Laptop for School (German)
Your school's 2-year-requirement is honestly ridiculous. There's literally nothing preventing 5-year-old ThinkPads you can get for 200-300€ from running the required software. I'm also very skeptical of the 15 in minimum screen size requirements, usually 14 inches is better for portability and 15 is

Windows on ARM vs x86
I'm on a Vivobook S 15: I'm not sure what you mean by useless services, which ones in particular? I had to tweak the registry to get it to use aptX, there's unfortunately no setting that shows what is being used so you'd have to use an external device or software though, but it does support it. You'

Which laptop do any current Waterloo students in the programs Comp Eng, CS or CFM recommend?
I jus finished my first year of CS. As the other person said, any laptop will be fine for CS of CFM, so my recommendation will reflect that. Comp Eng I cant speak well on. I got myself a refurbished ASUS vivobook S15, specifically an OLED 120HZ 3K version, with 32gb ram, 1TB SSD and a snapdragon X e

Forza Horizon 6 runs at 30 fps full resolution on High on Surface Laptop 8th Edition w/ XeSS
Currently I stream FH6 on my Asus Vivobook S15 (x elite) via Xbox Cloud and it performs pretty damn good, basically no noticeable input lag using an Xbox controller connected with usb-c. Hopefully some more Snapdragon GPU driver updates and optimizations release soon, and we run the game local and c

Vivobook S15 Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 vs. HP OmniBook Ultra HX 375
I am looking at a new laptop. Everywhere I read the Zenbook S 15 has overheating issues The AMD HX 370 (ryzen ai 9) chip is too high wattage / too powerful for such a slim body like the Zenbook. Which is why the cheaper Vivobook S 15 might be wiser + cheaper

Are macbooks really worth the price or just hype?
There was a brief window where this wasn't the case, but the AI component crisis is making PCs crazy expensive. Used to be able to get a snapdragon processor (arm, so good battery life), 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a big 3k OLED screen for $500. This was the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED, and was probab

Help with buying laptop
Blender and Premiere Pro change things a lot, you really need a dedicated GPU for those. At your budget look at the ASUS Vivobook 16X with RTX 3050 or the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro with RX 6600M. Both sit around $900 to $1k and will handle everything on your list including Blender without too much pain.
