If you're in the US, the Nook range of ereaders from Barnes & Noble does have WiFi, but does not have any web browsing capability unless you do a whole lot of rooting and modifying of the built in OS. No, I would not recommend buying a Nook as an ereader. I do have a Nook Simple Touch, which I bought in order to root it and use it as an Android device. For that purpose, it works well enough.
