the the good sound quality out of equation and for less money you got Sony Pulse Elite, it's also the best one for gaming by far in $200 range, for $400 the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 comes kinda close it still sounds decent, way better than Razer, Logitech, Astro, maybe on par with that Steelseries

Why did they keep the design of M4? An upgrade to the design, coupled with these specs would have been great. I was hoping to upgrade from my Beyerdynamic Aventho 300. I love the Beyerdynamic (unique) design and replaceable battery.

Consumer headphones from Beyerdynamic have been made in China for quite a while! E.g. Lagoon, the BYRDs, Aventho 300 etc. And the Sennheiser headphones that are still made in Ireland (in Tullamore) are equally as good as many of the German made Beyers. So, depends what you actually compare, really.

best all arounds depending what you value more are either Sennheiser Momentum 4 or Beyerdynamic Aventho 300, both are $400 msrp but you can get them like 40% off on sales
