I‘ve been thinking about getting an E-ink device for University as a student. What are your recommendations?
Boox Note Air 5C, by far. It's the most complete and versatile eInk tablet right now.

Is the Note Air 5C Smooth at handling PDF's and Powerpoints without lag?
i use my note air for lecture slides daily. pdfs are smooth with super refresh on - set it to speed mode for scrolling then back to normal for reading. powerpoints need conversion to pdf first though, the native ppt support is laggy. canvas sync works fine through the browser or boox assistant app.

Boox Go 7 new user: Tips and Tricks?
Install a dictionary. This is the single most useful thing to do. I'm not going to lookup, say, ukase, when reading from a regular book. Now I know what it means via a single click. They integrate perfectly into Neoreader. I installed Oxford and Merriam-Webster's using this threads instructions (fyi

BOOX Firmware V4.2 is here! Community-driven updates and a new thread for feedback.
We'd like to be able to disable pinch to zoom in the Boox Notes app. Otherwise it starts zooming randomly while we write notes. You removed the button that disables pinch to zoom. Why? Please bring the button back. I returned my Boox Note Max because of that. I do like the fast mode in v. 4.1 and af

New eReader. Between the Boox go 7, Bigme B7 and Kobo Libra Color
If you want something between 6–8 inches and you’re planning to read a lot, use Libby/Hoopla, and do some audiobooks, I’d go with the BOOX Go 7. It’s the best mix of e-ink screen quality, portability, and flexibility since it runs full Android and handles the library apps well. If you ever decide yo

Please recommend me a device!
I think that the Boox Note Air 5C is the best all-a-rounder, but it’s not a 1 hand device (realistically).

Looking for imaginary note-taking device
If a device is pocketable, then it is too small to read PDFs on it. The closest compromise is an 8" device like the Viwoods Mini or the Supernote Nomad. You can read/annotate PDFs and write on them, and they will fit in a coat pocket. A little cramped, though. The only truly pocketable e-ink devices

Ipad vs e-reader for reading and note-taking, after spending time using both devices I can safely say that the e-reader, BOOX Note Air 5C is better in almost every way. It feels more like paper, causes no eye fatigue, has far fewer distractions and offers much longer battery life
The boox XC does nit have a textured paper feel - just fyi. The Note air 5c has a better texture feel for sure. And I thought I needed or wanted the much larger screen of the XC but I'm starting to question it...I'm starting to think the Note Air 5C for my function is more practical and was just eno

Kobo or Boox: Which did you choose? FAQ feedback appreciated.
I very recently bought a Boox Note Air 5c. I very much enjoy it. The main selling point was the android OS and access to the play store imo. It gives you a ton of leeway to really make the device work the way you want it to. And in my case, I wanted something. That was exclusively there for Japanese
