QuietComfort Ultra

I've been in a dilemma since last year after getting dissatisfied with the sound quality on my Soundcore Q30s. I kept swapping between AirPods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds (I use a Samsung S23 Plus), but I have small ears and they always left me fatigued after long hours of calls and work.

I have been wanting to upgrade my pair of earbuds and i initially was choosing between sony xm6 and bose qc ultra. After testing both in store, it was clear that sony’s headphone was slightly better but it doesn’t justify the price difference between xm6 and a discounted qc ultra.

I’ve had the gen 1 QC earbuds since early 2021 and the QC Ultra headphones caught my interest a few months back especially since I’ve been traveling more in recent years. Decided to buy one late July as a gift for myself from a local distributor but the unit was defective so decided not to get a rep

So I jumped on a deal for a refurbished QC Ultra for £240 (discount magic ✨). Felt like a steal.

Unboxed them, all hyped, and… surprise! One ear cup started heating up like it was trying to cook my ear. 🥵 Plus the right side had this weird ticking sound - like it was sending Morse code to the mothe

I’ve had the QuietComfort & QuietComfort Ultra for a while and I love them both, but I always regretted not getting the NC 700 because I thought they looked so sleek and modern. I found a refurbished/excellent pair online that was quite affordable so I bought them & they were in my hands within 48 h

I’ve recently purchased and tested both the XM6 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2, and here is my brief review:

1. Sound Quality: Slight edge to the QC Ultra 2, sound feels slightly fuller with a slightly wider soundstage, even after EQ on the XM6. Again, the difference is slight, and hard to notice.

2. ANC

In the 1st gen Ultra Headphones there were 12 microphones, now there are only 10.
For those who have already bought the 2nd generation, please test if these issues that people experienced with the first version are present or not:

I dunno. I used them for the first time this AM and think they sound great. Bass is nice and deep. Best fit I’ve had in buds in a while. Going to put my Denon Perl Pros and Bose QC Ultras off to the side for while.
