Why is my shot squirting? [Breville Barista Pro]

The things others here are saying (puck prep, grinder, etc.) are certainly applicable, but a lesser known factor is pressure. A lot of Breville machines (aside from the Dual Boiler) have an issue where the pressure hitting the puck is far, far higher than the claimed 9 bar figure. The over-pressure

Does milk mask the nuance of good vs bad espresso? [$1000]

I have a Breville Barista pro, and I get milk drinks better than 90+% of cafes (to my tastes) out of it, and thats with an integrated grinder which this sub generally doesn’t like at all. I also love the straight espresso that i can get out of my machine, it's balanced and I don't find I have that m

What purchase felt expensive at the time but was completely worth it?

Literally came here to say this. Breville too. Barista Pro. 7 years and counting. I still get takeaway coffees, but only one or two here or there, rather than all of them.

Is Breville a good or bad place to start for a beginner? [$1000]

I have the Breville Barista Pro (similar machine), I love it. Got it at TJ Maxx for 50% off and have no complaints, makes a great espresso. Grinder is perfectly fine too. I’m not an espresso nerd by any means, I just want a good shot, and it does exactly that once you get it dialed in.

First machine - [$750] - low maintenance?

Breville Barista Pro. I used mine for years, works great, easy to maintain. It tells you on the screen when you have to scale and flush it, so you can't forget.

Stick with my Bambino or upgrade to Breville Barista Pro [$500]

Bambino to Breville Barista Pro is not an upgrade. Performance between these two machines would be virtually identical and you'd be losing the convenience of instant heat-up with the Bambino and its smaller footprint. Your issue is the pre-ground coffee you're putting into your machine. A Bambino pa

Should I get next week or wait for Black Friday sales

I've owned this machine. The built in grinder can't grind fine enough for proper espresso with only 8 settings. Absolute shit house, I finally upgraded to a breville barista pro after 3 long painful years and it's life changing. The built in grinder can actually grind fine enough for Esresso, I will

What is the Best Espresso Machine for daily use as of today 2026?

I’ve played with a lot of coffee equipment over the years. While I don’t have a breville on my coffee bar, I really like them! I used the Barista Pro for a while and think it’s a good machine for most people who just want some decent espresso. What I don’t like about it is the built in grinder. I’ve

Very Disappointed in my new machine... Please Help

Sorry you are having such a hard time, as a BBP owner (upgrading imminently), I know how hard this can be. Based on all the information you gave in the post and comments, it sounds like to me like you are overloading the basket with the 21g, which could lead to consistent under-extraction and foul s
