Tired of my Breville Bambino setup… wedding registry upgrade? [$1800]

Keep the Bambino, buy a better grinder. Edit: additional information Consider what you want out of your espresso experience and how much time investment you're intending to put into things. A nicer espresso machine will have better temperature stability, likely because you're trading thermoblock for

Help me choose a new grinder: narrowed down to two options [free with rewards points]

Breville bought Baratza because they know their own grinders suck. Avoid the Smart Grinder Pro at all costs! ESP or ESP Pro are the way to go. Go Pro if you have the points or extra cash.

May have taken "Spend more on your grinder" a tad far

I think the most insane legit pairing I’ve seen in this sub was an ECM Synch with a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. I say “legit” because I refuse to acknowledge the Lelit Mara X and blade grinder pairing I once saw

Would yall say I’ve upgraded or downgraded?

The grinder is what makes a difference . not the machine to a pointI had a Breville SGP and it was horrible . I got the Rancilio stile grinder and it’s a world of difference

Keep or return? [$200 vs $499]

The Breville Smart Grinder Pro is generally seen as a barely adequate grinder for espresso, though I have no experience with it myself. If you're happy with the espresso you get from the Breville, I would encourage you not to get the Ninja; it’s overkill and I suspect its built in grinder is not fab

Ordered 064S, having doubts

The 064S has its quirks, but I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Instantly improved the flavor in my espresso coming from my Breville Smart Grinder Pro (obviously). I spent weeks driving myself crazy trying to find the perfect grinder until I realized it doesn’t exist. Not at this price range anyway. The biggest

Not the person you're replying to but my pos breville smart grinder pro has an internal burr adjustment if the normal one doesn't go fine enough. Hopefully yours has the same deal

Barista Express Impress or Bambino Plus/Smart Grinder Pro [$800]

Bambino Plus, yes go for it. I wish I had known about it before I had bought 2 other cheaper Breville machines. Smart Grinder Pro, please don't buy one of those. I got mine as an almost-freebie in a bundle with my Breville Dual Boiler and it was a a mistake. The SGP is not really good enough for a d

Buying advice [400 USD].... should I get a secondary grinder for decaf and use my machine's grinder for regular, or should I get a grinder for regular, and use my machine's grinder for decaf

Use the better grinder for the coffee you use the most. So that’s caffeinated. If the new purchase is a better grinder - which we have to assume it will be - then use machine for decaf HOWEVER, you may have issues grinding fine enough for decaf with your machine so bear that in mind. There’s an inte
