Tired of my Breville Bambino setup… wedding registry upgrade? [$1800]
Keep the Bambino, buy a better grinder. Edit: additional information Consider what you want out of your espresso experience and how much time investment you're intending to put into things. A nicer espresso machine will have better temperature stability, likely because you're trading thermoblock for

I’ve had enough [BDB]
Not the person you're replying to but my pos breville smart grinder pro has an internal burr adjustment if the normal one doesn't go fine enough. Hopefully yours has the same deal

Second hand equipment? [£500]
They are both owned by Breville however the acquisition is fairly recent so your second hand model may be from before that. The Baratza has a solid reputation as an espresso grinder and is a newer model than the SGP (which is 10+ yo I believe). Reviews are pretty unanimous that it helps you dial in

Is a conical grinder really better for espresso?
That sounds like a low cost grinder like the Breville/Sage one: https://www.coffeeforums.co.uk/threads/iberital-mc2-vs-sage-smart-grinder-pro-vs-eureka-mignon.19165/ I wouldn't bother trying to use it for espresso. Those grinders don't have the fine tolerances needed to produce fine consistent groun

yesterday I had a perfect shot grind at 15 and 21 grams grinds 50 g liquid in 30 seconds. I tried again this morning and barely dripped, took 100 seconds to get 20 g ran again got 40g what happened. I’m wondering if it needs to be descaled. I’ve only been using it since a week after New Year’s.
Last suggestion is: clean your grinder. And I mean REALLY clean it. Disassemble as much as you can and get to the burrs. Even my nice “zero retention” Lagom P64 grinder builds up micro dust coffee in the assembly… it causes larger tolerances between parts and causes the grind size to drift. Did you

Fellow series 1 grinder advice
I can personally verify that my breville smart grinder pro is proving quite tricky to dial in on my series 1. anyone considering one to pair with this in hopes of getting a grinder versatile enough to handle course brews and espresso on this machine should maybe look elsewhere...

[USA - Target] Top 6 Grinder deals (Breville, Timemore, Gevi, Turin, Fellow, Eureka)
I think you can totally upgrade your setup if you’re looking for better espresso consistency. grind consistency matters a lot for espresso, and the velpro 400’s stepless adjustment really helps you dial in different beans way more precisely than the Breville Smart Grinder Pro. i grabbed a velpro 400
