CANON R6 V

If you already had Canon RF glass it would be one thing, but, I would not be willing to replace a Sony 24-70 GM ii for an older EF lens with an adapter. I know someone with an R6ii paired with an EF 24-70 and that thing just sucks to use. Like you can feel the lens motors twitching back and forth wh

Back to Nikon - hooray!

The irony is that I had that exact complaint 12 years ago; I was running dance photography workshops as part of a (contemporary) dance festival I was running, and I’d hired a lot of cameras for participants. High ISO handling was featured with these Canon models, but I found I was having to use insa

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! May 15, 2026

The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 is a faster and sharper lens than the Canon 24-105mm F4-7.1, Just for that lens alone, I would opt for the Canon R50. The full-frame equivalent would be an 24-70mm F2.8 lens but they are significantly more expensive. There are certain benefits for sure with R6 II but I would s

What camera should I get Canon R6 Mark III or Sony A7 V (or other)?

mpb yes ebay noooo i can speak intelligently about Canon products. and about birds, i shoot night skies a little. video? sorry... never do it there are three cameras from Canon you should consider R6 Mk II, R5, R7 for birds, the R7 will be superior to the R6 mkII unless u hide in a blind and wait fo

Why are some photographers still using DSLRs exclusively?

Just dusted off my trusty Canon 5D3 for a shoot the other day and I like the pictures out of it better than my R6II. Exposure preview is nice and AF and video are better on mirrorless, but that doesn't mean the images are. I also used one battery to shoot all day. A camera is just a tool. Having a D

Canon R6 II or Nikon Z6 III for portraits + travel

In my opinion it's a non-issue, and while it's visible in lab tests, you aren't likely to ever notice it in your real world photos. Stacked sensors (in this case partially stacked) pay a tiny DR penalty in return for faster readout speeds which for most people is going to be far more useful. If you

What is an appropriate amount of photos?

I had the 100-400Lii and 24-105Lii on EF, I felt like I had to change lenses too much, I was always near the 105 and when I swapped, the 100 mm was slightly too much. One day a friend lent me his ef 70-200 2.8iii, I knew I was going to get it, I also really liked the internal zooming. I didn’t want

Resist the temptation of a Canon R6 II

I have both substantial m43 and canon FF gear. OM1.2 150-600, 40-150F4, 12-40 2.8. 75 1.8 etc. R5.2 R6.1 200-800, EF 100-400 L mk II. 24-105L, several L primes and non L primes. I would take the Om1.2 over my R6 for just about everything other than razor thin DOF work. I’d take my R5.2 for everythin
