I bought a Fuji x pro 1 a few months ago and bought some lenses to go with it, turns out I’m not a fan of the range finder style camera. So I traded in the lenses for this pretty decent Nikon z50 with a 16-50 lens. Pretty stoked on it so far after shooting a couple shots today.

Thought I'd post these astrophotography images of the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy and the slowly departing bright comet Tsuchinshan Atlas I captured recently.

I don't think there is a debate. More likely there is just opinion. You are probably going to view the pictures at less than 2mp anyway. You will also find cameras like the Z50 from Nikon still sitting at around 20mp for a reason. Does what is needs to do.
