I've bought 6 different 3d printers in the last 18 months with the Creality K2 plus being the absolute worst and expensive for what it was (thankfully I sold it). My elegoo cc1 was a better all around printer than that hunk of junk.

K2 Plus is horrible and it doesn't seem like you need the large bed or multicolor system. For your use case go high quality with a smaller bed and your premiums to look at are the Bambu X2D, heated chamber, reliable, appliance like, second nozzle can be for support material and could always add an A

It's leagues beyond your old Neptune but it's definitely on the "fiddle with it" side of the reliability curve for modern printers. IMO Creality's reputation is overblown and outdated. I've been pretty happy with all the K - series printers I've used. (K1, K1 Max, K2 Plus). I'd probably recommend Bambu or Qidi first for most people, but OP has ruled those out for other reasons. For OP, I think the CC2 is probably a better choice
