Apple M3 With Asahi Linux Continues Making Progress, No ETA Yet For Shipping
a crazy expensive laptop It's not. A 13" M4 Macbook Air with 10 cores and 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD starts at $899. I just looked at Dell. A Dell Pro 14 starts at $859 for 6c and 8/256. Just because Apple doesn't sell at the bargain-basement doesn't mean they are expensive compared to somewhat similar

Dell, Prices and Names and whatever this is...
Dude, my girlfriend got a work laptop from her employer as a software dev and it's a Dell Pro 14. I looked it up, out of curiosity. And man... it's 1500β¬ for a shitty Ultra 5 225U with 16GB RAM. The shittiest screen I've laid my eyes on in a decade, garbage keyboard, slow SSD. Even my 400β¬ mini-PC w

Apple made External Monitors worse, then sold us retina displays
Somewhat tangentially, I am shocked that low res displays have lasted in the Windows world for so long. Itβs inexcusable to me that certain Pro laptops with premium price points essentially come with FHD res screens which are at least a decade past their use by date. Just as bad as the resolution is

I am trying to decide between the Dell Pro 14 and the XPS 14. I was quoted $1400 for the Pro and $2100 for the XPS. I am most concerned about storage, durability, life expectancy. Any suggestions?? Thank you!
Glad I can help :) You could definitely do all of that even on most models of Dell laptops. For reference, I got my XPS to finish up working on master's thesis in electrical engineering working on electromagnetic simulations in vegetation, which can take upwards of 30 minutes apice to finish with th

I don't get framework
Financially Framework is always going to be a worse deal, so you'll have to allow for a couple hundred bucks difference for the vision. The more they scale up, and the higher their quantities become, the less that difference should become. Firstly, let's look at comparable laptops these days, becaus

Obviously it isn't correct to say that you aren't missing anything at all. However, again, given that you don't know if you're missing anything or what you would be missing, you won't be able to tell the difference. Both devices will feel like a massive upgrade coming from a 2011 XPS 13. I say that
