I'd go 5k. I have Dell U2723QE, U2720Q and U2718Q on my desk next to an iMac Pro. My iMac Pro display is my favorite. Can't tell you why, it just looks better to my eyes.

I also received mine the other day and experienced none of the issues you described. I think it’s great, though I’m not a professional content creator or monitor expert. For normal use, it’s been a huge upgrade over my Dell U2720Q. I’m using it with my Mac Mini M4 Pro, connected via USB-C.

I think you’ve done a lot of good research because those are the monitors I was considering for my home workstation, too. I also working in branding and went with the Dell Ultrasharp U2720Q 27”. So far, I’m very happy with it. I use a monitor arm to attach it to my desk.

SODIMM slots are also disappearing across all classes of mobile compute, so it's an upfront investment to future-proof

We have two Dell Ultrasharps U2718Q, one U2720Q and one U2723QE. If you want a good 4k monitor with a lot of ports, these fit the bill. I also have an iMac Pro on my desk and it's my favorite monitor to use but like you, I'm not going to shell out for the ASD as the difference between 4k and 5k isn'

Dell Ultrasharp U2723QE. $480 at Amazon. 4K 27 inch display with a big port hub. Takes the display signal from the Mac and you get USB-A and USB-C ports. If you're getting a MacBook, it will also charge the MacBook. I have three of this line (U2718Q, U2720Q and U2723QE).

Definitely go for at least 1440p, if not 4K, especially for a 27” or larger display. Text clarity and workspace are miles better, and macOS handles scaling beautifully at higher resolutions. I only have my other monitor, the Dell U2720Q, to compare with, and everything looks better on the G32P. The blacks don’t appear washed out to me. A picture wouldn’t really capture the perceived contrast, as it also depends on variables such as OSD settings, camera settings, and so on. The picture o
