We replace all laptops with Framework laptops - A one year review
Our 1000 Dell XPS 13 + with their failure rate of 14% in the first 3 months and a further 6% in the next 9 months begs to differ. We literally had a Dell tech in our office more than our actual IT staff. Just a total poo storm. Dell offered us a partial refund to try and keep our business going forw

Your pick for the best overall laptop brand?
I don't trust any of them. I'll have to buy a new laptop in due time because I can't upgrade the RAM. I currently have a dell xps 13 from 2018. It was basically the top of the line one that i got at a black friday deal for 30% off. Had to replace the battery once, which is fine, but now with windows

Looks like Framework Laptops are no longer the only laptops to get 10 out of 10 iFixit repairability score
I would too if they were available in my country....and my 10 year old Dell XPS13 is showing it's age....I've been holding out hoping to get a framework, but I might have to look at the new Lenovos.

Are there any really good Laptops for Linux (Debian)
XPS-13 used to be great, until Dell replaced the line with the overall worse XPS13-Plus design (it's actually Minus). Framework 13 is great. Finding something that can compete with M-chip Macs on battery life is going to be challenging.

Horizontal lines in display out of nowhere
This is how the LCD in my older Dell XPS 13 started dying. :(

Buying a ThinkPad X1 Gen13/14 just for a summer internship. Debating on whether to get a Dell XPS instead. I've been a loyal MacBook user since my first ever keystroke.
Dell XPS laptops tend to be hit or miss. If you're looking at a new one, be sure to test out the keyboard first or be prepared to return it. The keyboard is wacky. (I am looking forward to seeing what the Dell XPS 13 2026 model ends up being. It's supposed to be lighter, cheaper, and not use the sam

Dell XPS for ubuntu
I have an XPS13 9315 and despite it being 'linux certified' I still have no working webcam, 3 years after purchasing it. Needless to say I won't be buying Dell anymore for linux. FYI, I'm using linux since 1999 so it's not a user problem. It's a propriety driver from Intel thingy which I would not e

How would you convince your boss to switch from a big name brand to Framework for your Org. We're about ~500 users
Counterpoint: I had to change the main board 4 times on my last XPS13. 2 times were really easy because it didn't turn on anymore so they sent a tech really fast. 1 time was harder because it was a USB port that was defective and it took a few round trips with support since there is no error code or

MacBook Neo
I’ve just moved from a 2/3 year old dell xps 13 i7 16gb to a 2020 MacBook m1 8gb and it’s so much more responsive and boots up so quickly!

How will the release of the Macbook Neo at $599 ($499 for students) affect the success of the framework 12 ($799 for prebuilt), given they share a similar target demographic?
How often do you think people swap out storage? It's extremely unlikely to fail before the motherboard gets tossed for other reasons. OTOH I had a Dell XPS 13 (from 2022), both RAM and storage soldered to the motherboard. The whole thing including RAM and storage had to be replaced because of 1 prob
