Yes! Exactly that. The Air’s throttling is fine. My use won’t be heavy loads. Web browser, soft phone, and a few apps. That’s it. Right now I’m stuck lugging an XPS 16 9640. They spoiled me with the Core9 Ultra and 4070 but… I very much do not like Windows.

I think XPS 16 9640 is significantly different than the previous XPS 15 models, and this is because you have no problems. But the XPS 16 is simply problematic with Linux (I am running Linux on mine since about November last year. It was not perfect but I can manage it).

That being said I had a dell XPS laptop and the bios update last month explicitly said it was updating the keys (is the bios you download directly from dell) Alwaya good to keep bios up to date due to security fixes.
