A week with latest Nakamichi ShockWafe Wireless 11.2.6
I got my shockwafe 11.2.6 last week too. It was at my door two days after i ordered it! I had to do some reinforcing to my floating wall unit and move out the old components first, so i didn't do anything but a sound check with the pre-loaded stuff on the bar. Sounded impressive. The delay in gettin...
Pods/extenders/mesh - NEED HIGH SPEED
Don’t waste time with the pods. Invest in a mesh system. Eero or orbi. WiFi 6, 6+, 6e, or 7. 6e and 7 will give you 6g, 5g, and 2.4g. 6 and 6+ only give 2.4 and 5. All will get you a Gig. Don’t shove them in corners of the house. Spread them out but in more centralized location.
WATERCOOLERWEDNESDAY
I learned a lot about home networking in the last 24 hours lol. I blindly assumed that the Verizon router provided for my FiOS service was inferior to my Eero. Turns out the router sitting in my basement for 18 months was WiFi 6 enabled and my Eero was Wifi 5. So I set up the Verizon router and the ...
What Wi-fi 6 Router for home is the best value you've used?
I’ve had no issues with my eero 6+ units. They are wired backhaul. All HomeKit and matter devices work flawlessly. Even the ones that are at the edge of the WiFi bubble.
How’s everyone doing with their S25U?
I've been using S25U 512GB since January and it has been awesome. Got mesh wifi (Eero 6+ 1 Gbps) at home and (Meraki 6+ 2.5 Gbps) at work. No reception or throughput issues whatsoever.
Eero user looking to make the switch to Ubi
As someone with a small home with plaster walls I think your issue is WAY too many access points. I had 2 Eero 6 Pros and the coverage and speed were fantastic throughout the home. Unless you feel like spending money I'd give that a go.
Cox fiber install, should I buy a new router?
There are a lot of other variables here- how big is your house? multiple stories? old brick construction? do you have a lot of smart home devices, or need lots of connection bandwidth b/c you work from home? I've been happy with my Deco XE75 Pro mesh system, but it isn't super customizable. Eero 6+ ...
Please recommend modem for when FTTP arrives soon
I run 2x Eero and I love it. Super simple to set up too. Consistent 500-550Mbps upstairs and downstairs, if you are at the very end of the house (through a brick wall) it drops to about ~250-300Mbps. Edit- both are wired, and I have the 6+ version.
Outdoor Wifi?
I've half an acre, and my Eero 6+ mesh hits outside pretty well. I've one on each side of the house. Very occasionally it may hit the tiniest extreme blackspot, but I'd say 99% of the garden is covered.
Modem / Router Recommendations -nbn (HFC) with Exetel
Mate if money is a concern jump on Facebook marketplace and buy an Eero 6 bundle, or TP Link Deco bundle (two units) - you will get quite cheaply. Some of the terraces are quite long and narrow so if it's in the back room you will struggle to reach the front with a single device. Would place first u...
