New Build - Ethernet cabling
Try a mesh system? I got a 2 node eero max 7 system and get perfect coverage throughout the house . In hindsight it was overkill, but mesh systems (not repeaters) seem to be quite good.

Question on what internet speed to get and price?
All depends on your usage. Some people run their network like a mini business IT setup and for that you want your own equipment after the ont. For the average person that just wants to stream netflix and play some video games the eero works just fine. As for the extenders I won't tell you what to do

What smart home setup do you actually rely on daily?
Depends on what devices you use already. Eero mesh networking, Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod Mini, Apple TV, etc. all provide Thread, Matter or both. I personally use an Eero 7 Max as the TBR, this automatically shares Thread credentials with Apple Home and I’ve got a single Apple HomePod Mini as the M

Keeping eero devices after leaving
Anything you can recommend for under £500? I’m not really clued up with this stuff haha Really like the simplicity of the eero max 7’s and have got great performance from them in our 3 story house and out to the detached garage etc which is why I’m reluctant to get rid and £500 for two seems like a

What products does Ubiquiti offer that compare to EERO?
Honestly this may be seen as blasphemy but the Eero Max 7's range outdoes every UniFi indoor AP except the E7 and up. The U7 Outdoor ones beat it though but that's kind of apples to oranges although the UniFi Outdoor installed on wall without the omni antennas at the far end of rectangular building

Is the UDR7 as bad as people say it is?
I didn't, my fiber company provided me with two Eero Max 7's and I've been incredibly happy with their speed, coverage, and reliability thus far. The nerd in me of course would love more control, but these just work and I've found workarounds for all my internal stuff I wanted to control. Sorry to h

Buildout review request
Thanks! Good call, I’ll lay out at least 2 extra runs while I’m up there just ins case I need to throw another one here or there. Luckily my attic is pretty easy to move around in, just blazing hot. I took my eero network down to just 2 APs in similar locations to those, and WiFi man still showed ve

Home Wi-Fi recommendations
This. Used Eero routers for many years and virtually without a glitch. recently upgraded to Eero Max 7 was a great upgrade, and even though it was pricey, I am very happy that I did it. It’s a pricey system, but the improvement in speed, reliability, and range is clear.

Sky Gigafast – stick with Sky Hub or upgrade router?
I use a eero mesh system. I use a eero Max 7 as my gateway and it gives me good coverage in a 3 bedroom interior brick walled house. The spot it didn't cover very well I put a eero Pro 7 to cover that spot and linked them with ethernet cable for faster speeds and ping times and this is working great
