Continue to wait for fellow espresso series one, or move on to something else? [$3,500]
Reliability of Series 1 is our number 1 priority. The reason for the shift in mass production was so that we didn't need to make the machine get a performance hit to meet our goals. We accelerate life test everything to meet a MINIMUM 5 year bar (this doesn't mean the product breaks after 5 years, i

I managed to score a review of the WPM Primus. Roast me
Looks like a really cool machine. I’m a series 1 pre order customer. This is actually making me think twice, but the fellow at my price point was 2/3rd the price of this machine (without considering shipping to US). The gear pump and direct plumb capability are awesome. I like the form factor overal

Series 1 Owners - Are Profiles the same concept as on the Aiden?
I’d definitely be interested in this! The idea of a database of crowdsourced ES1 shot profiles outside of what Fellow provides is exciting! Just hope that the update to the app is pushed out soon…

First espreso machine
You mean the semi automatic Series 1? It’ll be a great machine but obviously it ain’t manual, so a lot of things will be done for you. It’s convenient, but it won’t necessarily be teaching you much, if you want to learn the more manual approach should probably look at something in E61 range. If not

Replace Bambino with what? [$2000]
I went to the Fellow ES1 from the Bambino because I had the same needs as you and wanted a technology middle ground between the Decent and LM machines. It’s not without its quirks and v1 issues but has generally been a fantastic machine and definitely ticks the “fast on, repeatable high quality shot

Decent DE1Pro - worth it over the Fellow ES1? [$4kish]
There are a few competitors though, like the wendougee, that is great value for money as well. But for me its the open source part. The standard software of the decent is not.great, but there are some amazing additions on the fora's to really improve the machine. And yes its great value for money wh

Chinese la marzocco linea mini?
I think you have not taken a look at the internals if you really believe that. I would actually argue the high end is where China excels the most, their tech is a level above across the board but the high end products also come with top notch materials and components. Meraki and Fellow ES1 are frank

Best machine for under 500
The home espresso world is evolving quite quickly. For light roasts people generally want to use lower pressure and sometimes slower longer preinfusions. This has evolved all the way to more recently almost unpressurized shots (SOUP shots). And prior to SOUP coarser ground faster flowing shots such

opinion on the fellow espresso series 1 coffee machine?
Are you both brewing in volumetric mode? If you haven’t specifically changed the setting, the machine defaults to stopping the shot when it believes an adequate volume has been passed through the brew group but Fellow has acknowledged this needs to be tweaked with subsequent firmware updates. I was

Espresso setup that balances nerd-level control with girlfriend-friendly usability (Drive vs Move vs Micra vs Duo vs Decent vs Fellow?) [$4000-$5000 budget]
I haven't used it, but something like the meraki might suit your needs. You'd still need to handle the dialing in process and teach the basics like puck prep and milk steaming, but you can make these pretty simple with the right tools. If you had the grind set already the machine can grind by weight
