How can I make this build better

The RAM listing is a false listing - you're not getting 16GB of DDR5 RAM for $80 in today's market (it's listed as out of stock on the Walmart site - it's going to be out of stock in perpetuity). Unless you're going to be editing videos professionally, you don't need a 7900X. For hobby editing, you'

How do I pick out a new/additional m.2 drive?

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Qnjv6h/gigabyte-aorus-gen4-7300-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-ag4732tb-n Probably the best deal right now unless you get lucky on one of the 4tb deals that crop up every few days but are almost instantly out of stock.

Building a PC for my husband... want to know if I did it right?

If you get the motherboard from MSI's website, you can bundle it with a 9800x3d for $400 If you want an air cooler, I'd go with an airflow-focused case. If you want a fishtank case, I'd get an AIO. Side note, the Ocypus is slightly worse than a PA140 according to Tom's Hardware. Definitely worth $31

Opinions on a $2000+ Gaming PC?

You can get better performance for less cost - some of your parts are expensive for no benefit in games, with less expensive as good if not better alternatives. Suggestions below that upgrade the GPU to a 5080 and a higher refresh rate QD-OLED 1440p monitor for $200 less. The CPU and motherboard are

is this pc future proof and good?

This is less money and better performance. You don't have to go for the pink ram but black is $30 more lol You mostly overbudgeted for the SSD and Case in your build. You could go for a 7600x or 9600x if the 7500f is putting you off. You can fit a 5070 in just over the original budget with a little

How's my first build look?

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L9QW3R For $1200 you can definitely do much better. This is a little over due to the dram cache SSD inside, but to keep it under 1200 you could swap it out for an Intel 660p 1tb PCIE gen 3 ssd or a patriot p320 1tb PCIE gen 3 ssd. This build also

Build to play hoi4 and maybe arma games in the future, with upgradability

Not great, but not terrible either. As others have mentioned, consider going with the 9600X instead of the 7700X unless you specifically need the extra two cores. The motherboard, however, is by far the biggest waste of money in the budget. You can easily find boards that are 130 AUD cheaper and per

Are These Specs Good?

For gaming, go with the 9800X3D - it's the best gaming CPU available (after the just released 9850X3D) and quite a bit better than the Intel 285K (which doesn't even improve on performance over the older 14900K). Suggestions below that cut out $500 from your list despite providing better gaming perf
