Good purchase source for USA - AooStar GEM10 with 64GB RAM
Don t go for the Evo-X1 if you plan to use an Oculink port specially with high ends GPU's, The Evo-X1 EGPU performance is terrible with its only 4 performances cores, AMD Phoenix point (7840HS) and Hawk point (8846HS) have very impressive EGPU petformance even with High ends EGPU performance loss ar

Beelink SER9 Pro (HX 370 / 890M iGPU): runs Gemma 4 8B at 16 tok/s AND Qwen 3.5 35B A3B at 20+ tok/s, fanless 32 dB
Nothing to regret about the Evo X1 trade for the GMKtec K8 Plus, excepted the Evo X1 slightly higher single performances the Evo X1 had for unknown reason poor Multicore performance for an HX370, and the Evo X1 could be noisy under load way more than the K8 Plus, the worst attribute of the Evo-X1 wa

Ram Compatibility issues common?
I like the idea that the Firmware core setting is the culprit because it is matching the historical background of the Evo-x1. Prototype units have high performances and retail unit have low petformances. Geekbench search is an excellent tool because Geekbench Archive all its benxhmark with Device in

New to mini pcs, is this good for gaming and local AI?
The Geekom A7 Max tends to perform poorly due to a single stick of RAM as a cost cutting measure. Single channel memory can reduce processing and graphics performance by up to 40% under heavy loads. By the time you buy a missing 16GB stick with current pricing its often cheaper to buy something with

MiniPC buying guide
By that point I would be looking for something like the GMKtec EVO-X2. I see that is overkill for your project. Personally, I'd prefer the EVO-X1 64GB but they've become damn near impossible to find. Already read a few horror stories from AliExpress where they were probably used or a 32GB was sent i

AOOSTAR GT37 AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 Mini PC does 3D Gaussian Splatting
Indeed, price wise the GT37 is super attractive, the GMKrec Evo-X1 with the same motherboard and same AMD HX370 is 200$ more expenssive. I think Aoostar are terrible for promoting their products, Aoostar have the best 780M mini PC model with the GEM 10 7840HS and excepted on this sub the GEM10 is un

Gmktec k8 plus or k12
the k8 plus is the best one in gmktec k series line-up, the 780m integrated graphics is the sweet spot for 1080p gaming, it has an oculink & usb4 port so if you pair it with a dock & budget gpu like the 5060, b580 or 9060xt then you got a sweet 1440p gaming mini pc. the 890m like in the evo x1 would

Minisforum AI X1 Pro vs AOOSTAR GT37
The Minisforum AI X1 Pro has the advantage of supporting up to 128GB (2x64GB) DDR5-5600MT/s SODIMM for LLM AI, while having significantly crippled iGPU performance compared to 256-bit 7500MT/s LPDDR5x. The AooStar GT37 is a Tianbei cost-cutting build of the base model GMKtec EVO-X1 with 32GB of LPDD

i9-13900HK vs U9-285H
You're still not smart enough to read after giving you the benefit of the doubt. You're still reading power consumption at the receptacle. The 131.6W for the 100W/80W 285H was a ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605CX with a RTX 5090. The 133.7W for the 80W/80W HX 370 was a ASUS ProArt P16 H7606WP with a RTX 5070.

Please recommend a mini pc.
it's a waste of money to have iGPU (disabled) to run dGPU for a mini PC. He'll need a PSU + GPU + GPU Chassis to mount with OCulink... So why wasting money on iGPU if planning to buy dGPU? You know there is already a RTX 5080 out there INSIDE miniPC ;) EDIT: that's around 3x more performance than EV
