GMMK pro constant chattering $400 papeweight

Had similar issue and installing QMK fixed it. I used a firmware posted on reddit. It should be this one https://github.com/gourdo1/qmk_firmware/tree/PR-branch-2023-Q2/keyboards/gmmk/pro/rev1/ansi/keymaps/gourdo1

I'm new, why does GMMK get so much hate?

I have 2 glorious barebones boards (GMMK Pro and GMMK 3 Pro) and 3 mice. Thing is though, I paid probably $120 for all 5 of those things combined. I did mod them up and have matching GMMK Numpads for each. If you don’t care about RGB controls, they can be great keyboards. You do have to be picky tho

GMMK pro constant chattering $400 papeweight

Slightly random, but I just bought an incredibly cheap GMMK pro (30€ - all that was wrong with it is a single LED that's out of sync!) and was extremely confused that the GMMK Core software didn't work - and even more confused after seeing how much customisation it had in VIA. I was close to trying

Inherited Glorious GMMK 3 Pro

I understand this is 13-day old post... I also inherited a GMMK 3 pro. It's built like a tank. I cleaned the keyboard, switched the switches to Mako ultralight tactile, removed the cherry keycaps and replaced them with MDA. It's up and running again. It's now one of my daily driver in the office.

2nd custom keyboard

That's cheap. At that price the GMMK Pro is actually not a bad deal. Still annoying the gasket mount doesn't work, but for 50 euros, that's a good buy.

GMMK pro constant chattering $400 papeweight

Yeah but those other parts don't mean the paperweight is $400 ;) You can re-use those when you get a decent board. Have you tried setting a different latency setting? It may be set at 2ms Adjust Latency 2ms FN + D + 1 8ms FN + D + 3 16ms (Default) FN + D + 5 I have a GMMK pro... had similar issues..

Looking for a Quiet, Tactile 75% Keyboard with RGB – Inland MK Pro V2

If they have the older version still in stock they're clearing out the barebones for $40 which is an amazing deal. Aluminum instead of plastic. Gasket mount. Firmware is in the main QMK repo already. Wired so no chance of a battery fire. I would add Outemu Silent Yellow Jade or Silent Lemon switches

the absolute BEST analog keyboard

Not really. The NuPhy keyboards will feel a little stiffer compared to the 80HE. Both will require mods to sound truly good. Just different mods. The Iqunix HE boards are pretty solid across the board aside from the software being a little less intuitive and polished. Keychron and Lemokey's wireless

These cheap keycaps from Amazon are actually great!

$50? I wish. I bought my GMMK2 years ago when it was brand new. It was about $120. It's still a great keyboard, and it has served me well. I put lubed Glorious Fox switches in it. I built my husband a GMMK Pro around the same time and used the Gateron Blue switches. He likes the clicky switches. 🤮

Terrible buildquality

I can't speak for the GMMK3, but I have a GMMK2 96% (mine) and a GMMK Pro (my husband's). Both of them have been excellent keyboards for the last 3 or 4 years. I have never had an issue with either of them. Their software, "Glorious Core" or whatever it's called, is terrible though. That's no matter
