5 Steps Forward Then 10 Steps Backwards On All Of Their Products?

Exactly. I also remember when Chromecast would just work, and now it's a gamble of whether it will or won't, and it usually doesn't work at all now. It won't detect the casting device and won't stop losing the connection when it eventually finds it. And then they introduced the Google TV Streamer wi

Google Nest Wifi alternatives

I'm pretty sure Google is deliberately enshittifying their old products to force you to upgrade. I had a 2 node nest wifi plus 1 node from the 1st gen google wifi and it worked great for many years. Then in the past 2 years the 2nd nest point (the one with the speaker) started really flaking out on

Google Nest Wifi alternatives

I had purchased mine and gave it 6-months and it was the worst decision/purchase, tech wise, I have made. Luckily, I had a great customer service rep at a box store, and she provided me store credit, and I purchased a different system and have had zero issues since. Almost every post I’ve seen about

Google Nest Wifi alternatives

I'm finally giving up and getting rid of my Google nest wifi. Had it for 4 years. In the last 5 months one, if not both, access points have been going offline/turning off and needing resets. It got to the point I'd reset it every couple hours then have to reboot the entire system. I even got the poi

Smart home system recommendations

OK, well I highly recommend that you dive in when you do have some time and mental space. In that case, if you're an iPhone user, I'd go down the Apple home route, possibly sprinkling in some Amazon echo devices for voice control since Siri is such a dungheap and definitely using one of the mesh sys

What Generation is Your Wi-Fi?

I've been using the Google Nest Wifi Pro for years and after recently changing from an ISP that uses DHCP, to an ISP that uses PPPoE authentication, I was very annoyed to find Google still hadn't fixed a bug whereby the Nest Pro would always underread the speed tests and automatically adjust the QoS

Deco M4 vs X60 vs XE75 Pro vs BE25 in terms of range and reliability

I’m also looking to replace my XE75 Pro. Going to trash them all. Could never get 2.4ghz to work reliably. Performance was overall worse than the google nest wifi I was trying to upgrade from.

Deco M4 vs X60 vs XE75 Pro vs BE25 in terms of range and reliability

I just got rid of my Nest Wi-Fi Pro and went for the BE65 because Google still haven't fixed a bug that impacts PPPoE connections and eventually caused their network to grind to a halt every 28 hours. The BE65 is great.
