Mine was a GOPRO Hero8 Black, others had newer ones. As I said, newer models had more problems. As GoPro has no thermal management, you cannot tell, if the camera is overheating.

Helmet camera setups
Used market? Older GoPro’s are kinda cheap and plentiful. I still use a hero8 black.
