So.. play sand just saved me 90 euro

If one wants plates, Yes4All plates are like 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Goruck plates and will fit great as long as you pick the right sizes (you can stack 2 x 15lbs on top of each other in the Rucker pockets, for example).

What are people buying now that Herschel shit the bed?

I've been happy with my fjallraven raven. I do like my goruck rucker gen 1, but it's hard to justify the price. If I was looking for something similar I'd look at CTactical. People have compared the goruck and CT bags on Reddit if you're considering.

Need recommendations for rucking backpack

If you’re planning to ruck heavy, cheap is not an option. It’s an option, I guess, if you don’t really like your back and potentially getting injured. Look on the used market for a Goruck Rucker or a military assault pack.

Rucking 101 - Gear

I haven’t found a reason TO buy the Rucker or plates, for that matter. $12 close out pack and (2) $1.88 1x8x16 concrete blocks got me 32lbs. I’ll tune in the final weight with a hammer. The thing to keep in mind is Rucking as an A.R.T. Active Resistance Training. Unless you’re showing up for a GoRuc

Found a cheap rucking combo on amazon

I’m impressed that you tracked down a combination that fit, especially for a 30 Lbs plate. I consider the GoRuck Rucker pack to be a good deal even as expensive as it is because of how well it is put together, how well the padding works, how well they hold up to the abuse and their willingness to fi

I’d really like to try rucking. I’d like to know what’s a good starting point.

Pass on it. While it will work well for seasoned ruckers, it won't for rookies. The GORUCK pack for $49 on Amazon is your best bet with a 10-20lb plate to start with. Also just buying a pack doesn't make it easy. Your shoes are a big part of your experience. Put your money into a quality set of shoe

what ruck/weight vest do you use?

If you don’t plan to ever do anything other than the weighted carry for your dog walks, check out the Goruck Ruck Plate carrier. It can carry one short plate, so 20 or 30 lbs. Simple and minimalist. Get the yes4all ruck plate, should be half the cost of the goruck plates. The Rucker 4.0 is worth the

Just discovered rucking, cheap options to start?

Yes, as weight increases - a purpose built bag will become more desirable (comfort) or even necessary (strength of construction). 5.11 Rush 12 on sale for $77USD right now. About $100+ less than a GoRuck Rucker’s best sale price. But at 25-30 - no reason not to just go with what you got.

Newbie questions:

the $49 GORUCK Basic Rucker 17L is a steal. Yes4All Rucking Weight plates 10lbs is $34 and 20lbs at $57. Invest here for about $100ish investment and you got a worthy ruck setup. If you're a rucker on a budget, then a backpack with a 10lb bag of rice or beans in a waterproof bag works well. I use 2-
