GoRuck vs Wild Gym vs Other

Unless you’re planning to throw your bag around on the ground and do CrossFit stuff, the GoRuck bags are completely unnecessary. GoRuck focuses on durability over comfort. I just ruck. I don’t do all that crazy stuff so I prefer comfort. Don’t get me wrong, WildGym bags are beasts too, but they are

Rucking 101 - Gear

I haven’t found a reason TO buy the Rucker or plates, for that matter. $12 close out pack and (2) $1.88 1x8x16 concrete blocks got me 32lbs. I’ll tune in the final weight with a hammer. The thing to keep in mind is Rucking as an A.R.T. Active Resistance Training. Unless you’re showing up for a GoRuc

Why no Wild Gym bag reviews?

I have a Wild Gym Feather Ruck. It’s very comfortable. I sold my Rucker 5.0 within a week of getting it. Goruck products are built like tanks, but I don’t need a tank on my back to take a walk around my neighborhood. Also, the Wild Gym bags have much better padding and comfort features.

I’d really like to try rucking. I’d like to know what’s a good starting point.

Pass on it. While it will work well for seasoned ruckers, it won't for rookies. The GORUCK pack for $49 on Amazon is your best bet with a 10-20lb plate to start with. Also just buying a pack doesn't make it easy. Your shoes are a big part of your experience. Put your money into a quality set of shoe

Rucking in the rain

I’ve got a Goruck Rucker 4.0, bougie I know, but I wanted to invest in the hobby. It’s supposedly “rainproof”

Does the pain of higher weight (60 vs 30 lb plates) reduce over time?

t does. I went from 0 to 60 lbs (45lb plate plus all the stuff for work and other gear I keep in there) with the goruck rucker and I would not reccomend to anyone for exactly the shoulder pain you're talking about. The rucker is more of a let me bring some weights to the park to workout or lighter w

How do you deal with shoulder fatigue when carrying heavy loads?

Agreed. I have a Goruck Rucker and I bought the hip belt and took it off after the first use with it.

Rucking boots

I use Adidas Terrex on the trails. They are awesome hiking shoes and boots. On the streets around my house I use Hokas. Wore out the lugs on the Adidas on the roads. Really like this setup. I have 2 GoRuck ruckers and 20, 30, and 45 plates. The backpacks will last forever, but I consider them to hav
