Best dpad/all-purpose controller ?
3 controllers that have been great for Celeste specifically are ps4, PS5, and gulikit tt pro Ps4 I used for pretty much everything until I got a PS5 controller, and then I started using ps4 for only digital control games (Celeste and Spelunky mainly). Good for all around but will get drift PS5 d pad

Kinda disappointed
If you don't want to get the new TT Pro/Max from Gulikit, you could try the new Flydigi Vader 5 Pro. It has a diamond style floating D-pad that feels great. Like the other Flydigi controllers I have tried, it's a little stiff but that might not be an issue for you. There is also the Razer Raiju V3,
