I don't see many comments addressing your AI/LLM interest. For $2000, Apple's hardware will be better than anything you can buy in an x86 laptop for $2000, due to the unified memory. UK laptop for work and play £2-2.5k
Update: I ended up buying an HP ZBook Ultra G1a, 14" Touch OLED 120Hz, AMD Max Pro 395 16 Core, 64GB RAM, 1TB. HP were running a business promo cashback so I ended up paying just over £1900. Why doesn't Apple have any normal competitors in the laptop space?
'Performance Per Watt' is Apple's marketing claim. It does that because it's all it's got.
