R3 Meta

I love my R3 Meta with dual subs integrated with room perfect. Most people would probably say my equipment vastly exceeds my speaker (ie spend 80% of your budget on speakers) but I have yet to see a set I would want to move up to. The kefs are excellent speakers. I think they play well with untreated rooms bc they’re not quite as wide as the bmr. You know you like them, I’d try to listen to r3 meta if you haven’t yet.

Try Hegel h400 for amp. Auditioned my R3 with this and other speakers. It is also what KEF uses to demo at shows. R3 are plenty for me in a similar size open floor plan space. My living room opens to kitchen and hallway. R3 Meta available for $1500 used R3 for $999.

I have a similar setup to you minus the shelves at the sides. They definitely need 18”+ breathing room laterally. "Bookshelf" speakers can surprise you. I upgraded from Q750 floor standers to R3 Meta bookshelves, the R3s threw a much bigger soundstage and went a hell of a lot deeper in bass. That being said, the R5s do make sense, as if you include KEF stands, the savings between R3 and R5 are not that big. The

R3 is more linear/flat but tends brighter in the top end. The Q7 Meta goes about 30hz lower and rolls off very smoothly. The Q7 Meta is also much more similar in sound to your Q6 Meta so I'd see that as a big plus. My preference would be the Q7s for home theater and blending with your center. They'd
