Help decide, MonsGeek M1 V5 vs MCHOSE GX87 Ultra vs Keychron K2 HE

The Keychron K2 HE is a Hall-effect board and will only work with magnetic HE switches. It will not be compatible with the regular MX style switches. As far as I know magnetic switches are linear only. So later down the line if you ever wish to change out the switches, you will not be able to use Cl

Help decide, MonsGeek M1 V5 vs MCHOSE GX87 Ultra vs Keychron K2 HE

I have the K2 HE, but it doesn't work with all magnetic HE switches. Only with gateron double rail magnetic switches, but keychron has listed their dawn, nebula, and aurora switches to be only compatible so you're kind of sol at the moment. Learning the hard way atm for my first TMR board.

Brand new K2 HE not working

I tried out the Glorious tactile magnetics at Microcenter and they were kind of only nominally tactile, which makes sense - a proper poppy tactile would make the whole variable actuation capability meaningless. I've been looking at the XVX Whisper rubber dome tactiles, but they're north-pole down an

New Keebs Recs

I'd personally stay away from the Keychron HE. I tried out the K2 and its got such a heavy switch even though you can change the actuation point within the board, its still heavier than it says it is for the actuation force. I play a lot of FPS games and I tried it gaming and my hands fatigued out w

Keychron K2 HE & the state of analogue keyboard gaming support

My game is modded, but using another non-HE keyboard and the Keychron K2 HE non-analog does not give me crashes. It only does when I activated the analog of the Keychron K2 HE. There is separate post here on Reddit, with a collection of other posts, about the game crashing because of mixed input: th

Which Keychron keyboard would be best for me?

Here is a list of full-size Keychron keyboards. Be aware of: Keycaps that are not shine-through, even if pictures seem to suggest they are. Resellers often also list it incorrectly (probably honest mistakes) The blinding light. The very limited selection of shine-through keycaps, especially for ISO

Best budget mechanical keyboards?

As a newcomer that has just killed their old Keychron K2 (no hotswap 😬) I’ve been surprised by the quality of boards for the money but also the massive over-representation of linear switches. I’d sort of thought getting a 75% ISO board with a tactile or clicky switch would be a cake walk! It pretty

Brand new K2 HE not working

I think the "ultra fast lime/banana/red" are north-pole down and not compatible with the K2. The Gateron Jades are definitely north-pole down. Unfortunately, the Keychron magnetic boards compatible with those switches are not running QMK. If they're not running QMK they might not be "ass" but they'r

Gateron Magnetic Double Rail Switch Question: Spring Information

I'll need to try, I thought that 35g > 45g might be too light. Although I am not a heavy typer/user. Doesn't the venom work only with the 2-3 switches they offer? Or there are unofficial long list of switches that it works? I have this issue with the Keychron K2 HE. As for long pole, have you ever t
