Kids nowadays, especially Gen Alpha, cannot concentrate on reading books for very long. Is it a true story or just a myth?
My 14 year old chaos bringer is a voracious reader. She buys her own books with any money she can scrounge, including 600 to 700 page chapter books. We bought her a Kindle paperwhite for christmas last year, and has just about worn it out. The flip cover case for it is falling apart She recently add

My Kindle is an ad filled wasteland and I regret buying it.
Doesn't work on newer kindles. I left my beloved kindle paperwhite on a plane and had to buy a new one; it now needs to connect to wifi periodically for you to continue reading, which defeats the whole purpose of having a kindle when it does it while you're on a bus or something.

E-reader ?
I use a kobo ereader. It's a luxury item weight wise, but the battery lasts forever, I read a lot on trips, and I don't like reading on a phone. Kobo works seamlessly with Libby/Overdrive through the public library, which is great. I used to have a Kindle Paperwhite but lost it and replaced with a K

Does reading on a Kindle Paperwhite at night mess with cortisol levels?
I had extreme trouble getting to sleep (2+ hours to fall asleep) and tackled it. My kindle paperwhite is part of what helped me solve that. no phone once in bed; phone has night shift settings kindle on with dark background and light text, as low brightness as possible where I can still read Now I’m

Kids nowadays, especially Gen Alpha, cannot concentrate on reading books for very long. Is it a true story or just a myth?
Have you looked into the Libby app for her? My public library system has a massive catalogue with them, and I can read anything I borrow from them on my Kindle paperwhite. The books automatically go back to the library and get removed from the Kindle. My favorite hack with this, however, is that if

Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara BW?
I see you decided on a Kindle Paperwhite, but I just upgraded from an Oasis 2 (battery lasted about 4 hours) to a Clara BW, so thought id add my thoughts as it might help someone in the future. I like to take my e-reader with me often, so pocketabaility was important, I also use wide margins to keep

Do you prefer the traditional book or the ereader?
I’ve always generally been a fan of traditional books but got a Kindle Paperwhite a few months ago and love it. I find myself reading a lot more with it, but I can’t really explain why. It’s just nice not having to carry around heavy books (I’m reading the Masters of Rome series currently, each like

E-books vs Paper books while traveling
I also prefer paper books, but only travel with a Kindle. FYI, if you are a beach traveler, get a Paperwhite or Traveler. They are the only Kindles with screens that you can read in the sun. Everything else is too shiny.
