My Kindle is an ad filled wasteland and I regret buying it.

Doesn't work on newer kindles. I left my beloved kindle paperwhite on a plane and had to buy a new one; it now needs to connect to wifi periodically for you to continue reading, which defeats the whole purpose of having a kindle when it does it while you're on a bus or something.

Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara BW?

I see you decided on a Kindle Paperwhite, but I just upgraded from an Oasis 2 (battery lasted about 4 hours) to a Clara BW, so thought id add my thoughts as it might help someone in the future. I like to take my e-reader with me often, so pocketabaility was important, I also use wide margins to keep

Kobo or Boox: Which did you choose? FAQ feedback appreciated.

The Boox Go Color 7 was a no brainer for me, having an Android based e-reader is incredible. You can have the Kindle and Kobo apps on one device. I was sick of how restricted the Kindle was and Amazon doesn't need more of my money. Kobo doesn't have Libby integration here in the US, at least not in

Where to purchase LNs?

Absolute wall of text incoming, sorry 😅😬 Amazon and kindle have always been my go-to for books, even still having a beloved paperwhite from early 2010's. I dont have any issues so far with the app and such, but Amazon's been doing some pretty insane...stunts recently. While I rely on it as a whole f

Daily Discussion - May 14, 2026

I have the Kobo Clara BW, which I got to replace a Kindle Paperwhite that I had for a hot minute in early-2024 before they announced the KCBW. In hindsight, I should have just gotten a Kobo to begin with, given that their now discontinued Kobo Libra 2 cost the same as what I paid for my Kindle. As f

New to Ereaders- Recommendations??

I hear you. I mostly read novels and cant say I particularly care about seeing color on my book covers. Its the annotating that really gets me, I dont like to annotate my physical books but I am all for it on an Ebook. Also I really did not enjoy the way annotations works on the kindle scribe but I

Xteink X4 & X3

Not really. The book I have on the X3 is for my ‘book club’ type books (Dune, Quiet), ie books I’m reading a chapter a day, but also I only carry this on workdays as it fits better in the back of the phone. Most of my work clothes don’t have pockets. The X4 is the one I use when I’m home (Jo Nesbø,

Looking to buy an e-reader and so confused on what to get!

Something to consider that I didn't and wish I had; weight. I only read paperbacks and have weak wrists so maybe it's just a me issue. I ended up choosing a Meebook m7 and it is brilliant, but the weight (~235g) alone is making me look into getting a different ereader. Kindle basic would be a better

First e-reader?

I've been using my kindle pw for a good 10 years now and I'm not planning on replacing it until it dies for good. But if that were to happen tomorrow, these are the most important things I'd look for: Physical buttons for page turning - when I hold my e-reader I usually do that with only one hand, t

Kindle PW 12th gen vs Clara BW

If you’re not buying books, consider the Pocketbook series. I have a Verse Pro (6”) that fits in my pocket and I take with me when I’m out and about, and I have an Inkpad 4 (7.8”, I love this device!) that is, for me, the perfect size for reading at home. Reading position syncs between the two devic
