Prices went nuts over the night

The analogy in this case would be more like you got diagnosed with brain cancer 6 months ago but you waited until today to start living your life like there is no tomorrow, when your illness has progressed so far you’re no longer able to do that. You don’t have to buy RAM and SSD upgrades through Le

Which laptop (second hand) should i buy ?

There's no E14 with dGPU and certainly not with a RTX2000 Ada (workstation GPU). Look at the Intel PSREF and AMD PSREF. In this sub, we'll never recommend an Ideapad because those are consumer, way lower quality line, with cheaper materials. Having said that, if you intend to run VMs, get the one wi

We’re swapping out Chromebooks for Neos over the next few weeks

Good question. Some context, we’re 60% Linux, 35% Mac and 5% PC. We did look at the Lenovo E14 but for the price, the Neo has it beat. Lenovos pricing went to the moon over the last few months, so much so that we’ve recently switched to Dell for all other compute. We have various specs depending on

E14 g4

Can current Lenovo laptops be used to play games(mid specs)?

ThinkPads aren't really for gaming. The cheapest new ThinkPad on Lenovo's website is the E14 Gen 7 with a Core 5 210H, but it only has 8GB of RAM for over $800. I wouldn't recommend buying a new ThinkPad just because the prices are so high when they are initially released.

ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 recurring hinge failure (3rd time in a year). Lenovo Support is claiming "Customer Induced Damage" (CID) despite an immaculate chassis.

Maybe you got the defective piece or something, I also have E14 gen 5 AMD. Got it in December 2024, along with 2 year warranty and ADP cover. I've abused it a lot, I am a student, travel daily in crowded bus to university, multiple times the bag has fallen with laptop in it from upper luggage rack o

What was your thought process on picking this over the Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 7 or E16 Gen 3? Lack of upgradable RAM was a big issue in our org

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 listed officially as a coming soon model

Lenovo just keeps moving things around, not always the ones that actually need to be moved For example they could move stuff around and allow regular 2242 Nvme (not in WWAN) slot for SSD. Especially now when LPCAMM RAM in T14/P14s G7 takes less space than traditional pair of SODIMM. There has to be

E14 VS. T14

E14 G7 is the more modular, with dual internal NVMe drive support, and upgrade-able WiFi cards, but its metal topped plastic chassis, isn't as rugged as the T14, and its displays are poorer, especially the entry level 45% NTSC. T14, metal sub-frame with a reinforced composite chassis, and stronger h

Yeah, as a not-so-happy E-series owner, I have to agree. My E14 Gen7, which is my first ThinkPad, is four months old and despite being a Linux user, support keeps wanting me to do driver updates and checks in Windows to solve my crackling audio issues that happen regardless of what OS I'm using. The
