For $170 that's an amazing deal! Althought, X1C gen 8 only uses 10th gen processors. The Carbon Gen 7 has 8th and 10th gen processors. What's a good budget laptop for Linux (for my son)?
I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 8 on eBay and it has been great. You can get a Gen 6 to Gen 8 for under $300. I personally use LM 22.3 Cinnamon but I have tried an ungodly amount of distros using a usb drive and they all worked great!
