What’s all the hyper with the X1 Carbons
X1C is a carbon fiber composite, most others are an aluminum alloy + plastic. So you get a far sturdier chassis with a lower weight, making them ridiculously durable for their size. Lenovo has had a build partnership with Intel for this model forever so they get specifically engineered, making their

Lenovo X1 Carbon is the best laptop to ever exist
Great keyboard, great display, good speakers, thin and light, supports all ports, exceptional build quality which makes it super durable, good battery life, great design and its just an overall incredible machine to use. Unlike HP or other brands with similar specs idk why but the x1 carbon is incre

Unhappy X1(G9) owner, want some advice downgrading
4k display kills your battery. Avoid X1 Carbon if you don't like soft touch coating. Some other models might have a soft touch as well, so look that up before buying. I'd go with the same CPU you had, 1185g7 is a good option on a budget. Or AMD 6650u, 6850u are still powerful enough, battery efficie

MacBook Air M1 is the best purchase I have ever made
The X1 Carbons and T series feel nice (especially recent ones) but they're not a solid piece of metal so they're always going to have some creak compared to a MacBook. But the hinges are very solid and the keyboard praise is real. There are a lot of other compromises though compared to a MacBook. Wi

Switched from M2 Air to the X1 Carbon 13th Gen. Some first impressions
_UPDATE 2: I returned it. The coil whine was driving me mad. It was not only during load but it also appeared during less stressfull scenarios like browsing and office work :/ Total no go for me. You can find a youtube link in this post. Then there was the issue with the speakers doing a "plop" soun

Which one would you choose and why? MacBook Pro 14 vs Thinkpad X1 Carbon
MacBook user here testing a thinkpad x1 carbon for work. I love the screen on the x1 but the battery life is terrible. Opening a few apps in the background will make it very warm. Also seems to charge a bit slower than my MacBook. I do love how light it is vs my MacBook though. Seriously though, I t

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 out on PSREF
IPS panels only offered at 1920x1200 resolution this generation, non-touch IPS 1920x1200 option appears to be axed as well. Shame the 2.8K 500nit IPS VRR panel from the E14 G8 isn't being offered, or even the 2.2K IPS from the G9-G11 X1 Carbons. OLED panels are all 2.8k 500nit with VRR @ 120hz, with

Second class citizen’s laptop in an MBB sweatshop
Company EDR going ham on every file, System Integrators like Lenovo not giving a fuck to properly update their drivers for W11, bottom of the barrel cooling solutions (engineered for some low voltage CPU 10 years ago) and bad thermal paste (and badly applied too) are the main culprits of why your la

Thinkpad T14 OLED buyers remorse?
2 hours would be ridiculous depending on the workload. But yes, I had buyer's remorse. The OLED panel was beyond beautiful but I rarely got to look at it since I mostly used a docking station. Furthermore it also felt like I'd have to treat the screen like a raw egg because a replacement would be ve

After seeing the design changes to newer ThinkPads, I have decided to convert over to the dark side. It was nice knowing you ThinkPad fam!
That's why I'm happy with my x1 carbon gen 10. It's lighter than most laptops on the market, has a really good screen, decent port selection, Linux support, good battery life (MacBook battery life is unbeatable though), and more easily repairable than a MacBook. I paid macbook air money for it thoug
