Need help picking a monitor
i was in the exact same spot a few months ago. the lg 27gs95qe is a beast for the pro - it's a 27" 4k oled with 240hz and hdmi 2.1, so you're fully set for any game. the colors and blacks are just insane coming from an ips. another one to check is the asus pg27aqdm, also 27" 4k oled with great respo

Linux KDE users, how do you set up your HDR in calibration? RenoDX?
Oh I have a nice LG 27GS95QE WOLED. It can do over 1000 nits using it's MLA lenses but they don't show up in a white window that these calibrations use. And they are only used when the monitor is in high brightness mode. I'm well.awate an led fake HDR monitor would not be worth it. Iv seen this moni

EDIT: So i disabled the KDE tone mapper and my HDR is completely fixed. This might be monitor dependent t

4K IPS vs 1440p OLED - RTX 5070 Ti
Okay, that's terrifying that we were in the same situation! Sorry for the two-week reply, but if we did the same thing, it's very possible you also decided on a 2K OLED ;D That's what I did and it was probably the best choice I could have made. The 2K does a truly amazing job, and looking at my frie

Should I upgrade to 1440p?
For some AAA titles you will fall short, but in general it will work if you use DLSS3. According to my AI, it recommends these: Category Recommended Monitor Refreshment Rate Dashboard Key Points Best OLED (240Hz) MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 / ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG / LG UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE-

No HDR and No SPATIAL audio like ATMOS?
I have both of these games, and I think they both work well with HDR on my PG42UQ and LG 27GS95QE. If we're talking IPS or other backlight displays that's another issue and they aren't going to not work as well as OLED or other pixel-based lighting technology regardless of OS.
