This seems kind of bad...

Use Mullvad. That's the ONLY VPN I trust. Also, Mozilla VPN seems pretty good too. They have a deal with Mullvad to operate their servers.

Exclusive: Mozilla tests "Firefox IP Protection" to promote VPN within Browser

FYI: Mozilla VPN is just Mullvad, but $5 more expensive, which is 100% on Mullvads price.

Mozilla, when is it too much?

I try support them by subscribing to MDN plus and Mozilla VPN. If they offered more paid services, I would pay for them, just to support Firefox.

Firefox could be doomed without Google search deal, says executive

Mozilla have had ample opportunity at this point to create decent revenue raising products to support the main Firefox project. I don't understand why every single attempt they have made with projects like Mozilla VPN, Firefox Monitor, Lockwise etc have been either poor white-labled versions of othe

Mad at Meta? Don't Let Them Collect and Monetize Your Personal Data

That's good to hear. I don't use it myself (I use Mullvad), but knowing they operate on Mullvad servers made it a decent recommendation in my eyes. I actually do think I am technically subscribed to Mozilla VPN because I pay them for Mozilla Monitor, so maybe I will give it a try. I mainly subscribe

Firefox Is Testing a Free, Built-In “Browser-Only” VPN

The article mentions "Mozilla-managed VPN servers", so I guess Mullvad had nothing to do with it. The branding looks similar to Mozilla VPN. This will be confusing...

Mullvad is the only one that I trust. Mozilla Monitor is a good replacement for the other data broker removal services, and it comes bundled with Mozilla VPN which operates on the Mullvad servers.

Will using Mullvad exit nodes work for torrenting?

I had a similar situation but I was using Mozilla VPN instead. Mozilla VPN also uses Mullvad under the hood. Switched to Tailscale with the Mullvad plugin and it works no problem. Though I did have an issue with DNS leaks, you'll have to check that on the Mullvad test page and follow the instruction
