If you have a "hefty router" than you are at least in the ~$2500-4000 spend range and most definitely didnt buy it from any brick and mortar store outside of maybe microcenter and its not a singular device, its multiple. Curious why you would invest that sort of money into a network if all you have

Too many devices
I've used TP-Link successfully for the last 3 upgrades. I use them at my office and I've set my dad up with one as well. For best results, log in to the Telus box (the instructions are on a sticker on the side), turn off the wireless radios for the Telus box and just use the new router. Other brands

What are we all doing for routers?
The Ubiquiti Unifi's are popular, but I'd also like to throw Asus in the ring, cleanest and easiest interface I've encountered compared to Netgear, TP-Link, etc. $199 - https://www.ple.com.au/products/657470/asus-rt-ax57-ax3000-dual-band-wifi-6-80211ax-router $349 - https://www.ple.com.au/products/6

What are the correct network settings for Steam Remote Play?
If you used sunshine then apollo will look exactly the same with a few extra features for virtual monitors. I personally went with the Asus GT-AX11000.. it is an expensive boy. If you are looking for a decent budget range I would go with Asus RT-AX82U AX5400.. It should let you create multiple VLANS

bringing my starlink WiFi into an outbuilding
I just did an install of a TP-Link wireless bridge kit tied into Starlink. Super easy, just need some mounting poles for the bridges. Setup would be: Starlink router > ethernet to first bridge > that bridge beams signal to receiving bridge > mount receiving bridge on the outbuilding > run ethernet f
