Despite others I still reach for a Z30.

The 16-50 collapsible lens is one of the best lenses of any mirrorless system imo. It’s basically an APS-C version of the Panasonic 12-32. Being collapsible, it’s ultra-portable like a prime lens but with a versatile 24-75mm equivalent range. It’s decently sharp too! I love my Z30 despite owning a z

Help. Z50 II

I owned the Sigma 150-600C and used it on the Z8, Zf and Z50ii. Optically it's very good, basically so close as to be negligible in difference to the new 180-600, the mids and corners are a little softer, nothing crazy. The 180-600 improves with all the other stuff, motor, VR is much more, internal

Digital Camera with Flip Screen Recommendations

Refurbished options that come with a short, usually extendable, warranty, but nothing new out of Nikon with a flipping screen and a flash at $700 or less. The closest is the Coolpix P950 at $750. Though it's party trick is a ton of zoom, not so much on the image quality front. The Z30 with 16-50 len

Camera for low light/indoors?

The FTZ really does not add bulk compared to using the same lens on a DSLR. With a native Z-mount lens, the length is in the lens itself. But with F-mount, the length is in the mirror box. Measuring from the filter ring to the sensor, it is about the same. Yes, "about," not the same. The F-mount len

Z50ii as first camera?

I learned on a Canon Rebel T1i. You’ll be more than fine with the Nikon z50ii. It’s a very powerful camera. Even the Z30 would be more than enough to start with. Make sure you have a telephoto and a few primes. Viltrox has some really good budget options for lenses too.

I'm planning on buying D3300 for bird photography. Is it a good choice? Also some cheap lens advice would be much appreciated.

Have you considered a Nikon Z30? They go for crazy cheap on the used market, at least in America. I got mine for $400 with a lens, but I’ve seen them go for as little as $300. Really, any mirrorless Nikon would be a massive upgrade over a D3300, and you’ll want modern autofocus for wildlife photogra

Full frame v. Crop Sensor Image Quality?

Yeah I picked up the Nikon 40mm f2 which I’ve been using on my Z30 and I do love it. Lack of VR makes it tough for video, but stills are great. Decided I’m going to just pick up a FF camera body and do some home tests with the 40mm. We’ll see!

Z30 Upgrade Question

Thanks! Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. I love my little Z30, it’s practically weightless and I’ve taken lots of great shots with it. I’d happily jump to a Z50ii or possibly just keep the Z30 if it had IBIS, just so I can confidently use S lenses on it and not worry about shaky video, telephoto

Loving the high contrast B&W simulation on the GRiv

Oh nice. The only thing I know about Birmingham is Peaky Blinders, so now that's how this exchange went down in my head. 1922 in 4-piece wool and flat caps. I also switched from Fuji to Ricoh, mostly because I don't like the Film Simulations. They all feel overcooked to me. I have been thinking abou
