Mirrorless equivalent of D7500?
People are going to say Z50ii, but it's a side-grade. You're going to get similar image quality and AF performance in a smaller body with better video, but the end result is the same. Sometimes a slightly smaller package is all it takes to encourage you to use your camera more, but you're pretty muc

Mirrorless D500
Sadly, I don't think there will be. I was convinced that Nikon would release a $1500 APS-C camera with IBIS, maybe dual card slots and nicer specs than the Z50II (maybe a better EVF, slightly larger body etc) to give a successor to the D7500 (if not the D500), but Nikon released the $1700 Z5II inste

Looking to upgrade.
Nikon Z50 II and with an FTZ ... Nikkor 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6, Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5-6.3, Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8G, Tokina 10-20 mm f/2.8G I mean, you can do that, but I wouldn't. Simply put, the new 16-50, 18-140, 50-250, and all wide angle options put the older F-mount lenses to shame. An FTZ is an expe

Z50II vs Z5II
Nikon Z50 II is lightweight & compact and so are the kit lenses. Unfortunately, there are very few professional and semi-professional grade lenses. What's more, the body relies on the built-in touch display for a number of interactions, which can quickly become an issue. Especially if it's below 0 C

From Z6 to D750: dumbest move ever?
You're welcome. When I wanted to upgrade from my Canon M6, I considered buying my friend's Nikon D750 since I have a Nikon SB800 flash, as well as Nikon AF, AF-D, and G lenses that I could use on the D750. The deal breaker was the DSLR's loud shutter. Even though my Canon M6 is a mirrorless camera,

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! April 03, 2026
Z50 II has the same size sensor as Z30, so the improvement in low light would be limited. Full frame gives you an improvement of about one stop of light at the same aperture number. But what is your budget for lenses? Full frame lenses tend to be expensive.

Z50II vs Z5II
How do you like it? I have been tempted by Z30 so many times ...that with 16-50 2.8 would be awesome. Nikon has (and always had) terrific DX bodies but crippled by DX lens options. During D500 days Nikon had just one fast native DX lens the 16-80 and forced users to get onto FX. During the DSLR days

Why is there no Tamron 17-70 f/2.8 for Nikon Z?
Nikon seems to have a current plan for lenses where they offer a first party premium option, then will let tamron come in with a cheaper option when it's clear there's a bunch of users who they can sell too but won't touch the Nikon one. 70-200 z vs 70-180 and 24-70 vs 28-75 as you've listed are two
