Nikon D850 vs Z6III
I have the exact same setup. D850, D5, Z6iii. Z6iii video is outstanding. I don’t do professional video but the quality is great for home use. For stills, D850 is the best quality. Obvious answer there. Z6iii and D5 are comparable in image quality. I like the D5 autofocus better in fast, crowded env

Switching to Nikon, pitfalls
As a professional, if your kid is the reason for the BM6K, you’re way overthinking it. Just get good with the Sony, or if you really want to switch (it won’t matter anyway), just get a Z6III and call it a day. You’ll get the “Nikon color”, you get the raw video of the blackmagic, and 24MP is plenty

My first week with the Nikon Z6III
Quick note since many of your points are video recording specific: Likely in a bid to split the capabilities of cameras, Nikon also made the ZR, which is basically a Z6iii with no viewfinder and some shaving off of camera features in exchange for loads of video specific features, including 3D LUT. Everyone seems to love the new Zr, why was then everyone hating on the Z6iii?
The general reception of the Z6iii was very good. At the time (and maybe even now?) it's such an incredible bang-for-buck for what you get at the price. It's arguably the most capable hybrid mirrorless camera in it's price range, and it's not close; a workhorse for both hobbyists and professionals.

Z5 is cheaper now than Z50ii. Should I get the Z5 in 2026 for travel and family photography?
Okay, so let's list the advantages and disadvantages of the Z5 : + much better sensor for low light, and shallow DoF + IBIS, and more diverse full frame catalogue, ability to have stabilization with every lens you adapt to it, even F mount zooms that didn't have it. + dual card slots, I find this pr

Considering going mirrorless. Z5ii or Z6iii…
I personally don't buy the idea that DSLRs are obsolete, there are some killer DSLRs out there and great glass that hold their own in capable hands. Mirrorless makes some parts of photography easier and Nikon gives them the best processors, but you could absolutely upgrade your DSLR setup and have a

Should I buy Nikon ZR?
I don't think there's much point getting the ZR and not using raw. You could get pretty similar stuff out of any modern Nikon camera - a Z5ii or even Z50ii would probably be fine for content creation, a Z6iii or Z8 would be great but possibly overkill. You've mentioned you shoot canon - have you loo

Z6 III or Z8? I have the 45MP FOMO but my bank account is in DX mode.
Yeah get the z6iii with the lens zoom!! I have the Nikon 200-500 zoom lens and I rather use that on my z6ii than to crop in! I mostly use it for landscape and random wild life I see . I do also wants the Z8 and I do want it for 8k video since I do both but I rather also get the Z6iii and use it's 6K

Nikon Z6iii vs Nikon D850 vs Nikon D780 for Military Use
I understand. I just upgraded to the Z6iii from a D800. I compared the D850 and rented it but decided to go with the z6iii. The D850 is still a great camera but it’s old technology that is getting older by the day. The image processor on the z6iii is 2 generations newer than the D850. It has higher
