8 Day Cruise - 3L Packing List - Fanny Pack Only Travel
So this seems a tad extreme, especially for a cruise. Kudos if this works for you. A daypack or Osprey 26+6 might have afforded you a more comfortable journey.

This subreddit changed my life + What I learned
The “bag review” nerds love sh*tting on Osprey when they can. I watched a review on the Daylite 26+6 today and they said to “try these substitutes.” They were 2-3.5x the price! I actually needed a smaller bag than my Farpoint 40 and went with the Daylite 26+6 in black. There’s probably a great $250

Osprey 26+6 Personal Sizer Pics
A big factor for the tight squeeze with Air Canada is because all Canadian airlines (Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, and Flair) generally only allow 6 inches of depth for personal item, compared to the 8-9 inches allowed by US airlines. It's a massive difference. A fully packed (unexpanded) Osprey 26+6

Does the bag I’m looking for even exist?
I have the Osprey 26+6, 5’2” senior. I added a hip belt and it works good on this pack. I’ve walked 5+ miles with it including a computer in it. I had a cobbler sew 1” (or maybe it was 1.5”) webbing loops and then bought a detachable hip belt. Webbing from Amazon and hip belt from Black Ember DEX hi

Bag Size Comparison: 28L vs 16L
Great breakdown, thank you! As someone who is 5’3” I have the Allpa 35 and it’s the biggest bag I can reasonably carry but can certainly get heavy when fully loaded. For longer trips or things where I need a ton of totally separate clothes I usually end up with the Osprey 26+6 for my personal item a

Trying to fit 17 Days in France & Portugal in an Osprey 26+6 - Late September / Early October
Just chiming in to support your jeans! I know that a lot of travelers cite their bulk/heaviness/slow-drying — but I adore jeans and wear them every day, so I brought them on a 15-day trip to the UK at the beginning of summer. It was great! I already knew they fit great and breathed great, and I wore

Those who onebag… how do you lan your laundry?
A couple of thoughts: a 23 l bag is down at the extreme end of one-bagging so you’re making this harder on yourself than it needs to be; a 30-35 l bag would make this easier or even a Osprey 26+6 fabric type matters a lot - cotton is heavy & bulky to pack, and dries slowly; synthetic fabrics made fo

Airline carry-on onebag rant
I’m another two-bagger. I just can’t carry a giant pack on my back. I use a cane and can manage an Osprey 26+6 if it’s not super stuffed. But I usually take a 21 inch two-wheeledTravelpro and a Foldie tote. Sometimes I’ll swap the Foldie for the Osprey. It’s just easier with two smaller bags rather

Tom Bihn vs. Osprey
I own both Ospreys but the Osprey as Daylite 26+6. The fairpoint/ Fairview is a great backpack for real backpacking imo. I did 3 months Southeast Asia with it and loved it. Super sturdy and comfy. Nothing rly breaks this beast even when overpacked. Love the hop strap to lighten the load on my should

Test Pack for Weekend Trip in Osprey 26 + 6 Daylite
I found the 26+6 super uncomfortable but enough people here like it that I suppose I'm an outlier. FWIW, my hiking pack is an Osprey Talon 22 and my carryon pack is a Fairview 40 (both of which are fine). YMMV
