I'm looking for a backpack that becomes two backpacks

Osprey farpoint with daypack I tried it and it's meant to nest with the buckles, but It's pretty bulky when packed full.

(need advice) Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Kestrel 38

The Farpoint is a travel pack. It is absolutely the wrong type of backpack for the Camino. I strongly advise against using it. Go with the Kestrel or explore other backpacks made for camping while walking distances ie backpacking backpacks. Look at the Osprey Exos 38 or something else by Osprey or G

Your bag is perfect except for "that one thing" - what is it?

Need a 20-25l backpack for walking 15miles a day in Japan...

What would be overkill and how, exactly? I travel with a 28-liter hiking backpack because I haven't yet found a travel backpack which would be even half as comfortable. I have also taken 2 trips to Japan which would be very similar to what this dude is planning with 2 different backpacks. The hiking

New gun day / PC9 backpacker

It didn’t fit in my Osprey Raptor 14 or my Osprey Farpoint 15L (part of the 55), both of those I use as daily backpacks. Going to find another model to carry it in.

Ryanair shredded my bag!

This is a terrible bag to use as a hold bag. Unless you had a way of securing the handles, I could see these getting trapped within the conveyor belt system, which is probably what happened, I traveled on Ryanair to Pisa from Stansted return. I used an Osprey Farpoint backpack. Even though there is

Should I get the Osprey 40L or 50L?

I dislike zip-on attached daypacks like the Osprey Farpoint 55 for a few reasons. 1.) They put weight in exactly the worse place possible, out and away from your spine. 2.) The attached daypack is useless for carrying anything valuable because it's out-of-sight and out of your control. 3.) I don't w

I like this bag for the top-load or side-load choice, the molle webbing, and $80 USD price tag. But I realize Amazon items are usually not well built. Are there any recommendations for a bag like this from a good manufacturer?

40L or 70L

You can easily get by with a 35-40 L carry-on sized backpack that is specifically designed for travel and a small personal item. I dislike zip-on attached daypacks like the Osprey Farpoint 55 for three reasons. 1.) They put weight in exactly the worse place possible, out and away from your spine. 2.

Bag Finder Megathread - 27 October 2025

I think to some degree you are expecting too much from a single bag setup with all of those possibilities. Overall my comments would be: Osprey Farpoint 40 (presumably that's the bag you mean?) is an excellent all rounder bag for travel. Realistically its most notable downside is that it is too big
