Good 25–30L hiking daypack for rocky, uneven trails?
Osprey is hard to beat for comfort. Some bags have a frame, mesh back panel and plenty of other features to keep you comfortable. I’ve also heard good things about Gregory. But I own a a Stratos 24L and 36L bag and they are super comfortable and durable. I hike with them in Class II and Class III te

Anyone here commute by running with a laptop? Looking for backpack recommendations
I’ve been running 5 miles home 2-3 times per week for almost ten years now. At first it was just commuting with my clothes, but started adding my laptop a little over five years ago. I use the Osprey Stratos 24 as my backpack, still going strong. And I use the Thule Gauntlet laptop sleeve to give my

Anyone here commute by running with a laptop? Looking for backpack recommendations
I run 4-6 miles into work in Seattle with an Osprey Stratos 24. (I also have a big OMM backpack, but I greatly prefer the Osprey because of the internal frame). I put the laptop in the hydration pack sleeve, and between that and the internal frame of the backpack it holds the laptop really securely.

Best Backpack Size & Model for 5–20 Mile Day Hikes in the Rockies (Summer Use)?
Those are solid packs from good brands. You are on the right track. Yes, I think 22 liters is on the small size for technical day hikes and chalet overnights. 30 liters is okay. 40 liters is where I'd say it's too big. I prefer the trampoline style back whenever possible. It grabs onto my back well

Osprey Stratos 24 L vs. Osprey Manta 24 L Comparison (2024)
I read it, and your conclusion is accurate lol. I've owned the Manta 24 for a year and taken it on similar hikes/elevation gain. My biggest nits about the Manta are the weight (heavy!) and length. I have a 21.5 torso, and even after adjusting, the Manta just feels loooong. Packed down, the longer le

Question: Which backpack is better for work and weekend hiking?
I have an Osprey Stratos 24 which I absolutley love. If you were looking for a dedicated hiking pack - that would be my recommendation. That said, the options you are showing seem to lean more towards a commuter / hiking hybrid bag while the Stratos is very hiking focused. Project Farm on youtube re

Are Osprey backpack rlly that good?
People like Osprey packs because they are comfortable for many people, are well built, and have a great warranty. They don't do ultralight well, but that's not what they're shooting for. If possible, you really should try them on first, people tend to love them or hate them. I've been looking at bot

Are Osprey backpack rlly that good?
I just bought the Stratos 24, got it on sale @ Osprey for $108. I wanted this for long single-day hikes or for ultralight overnight hikes. I just used it on a fairly challenging hike on snow trails around Bear Mountain NY, and it was really comfortable. Weight aside, I often forgot I was even wearin

Backpack for tourist travel?
osprey stratos 24 if you want something that breathes properly. the airspeed mesh back panel actually works, not just marketing. sweating less on a warm italian day is worth it alone. fits two laptops easily, looks clean enough for a city, not too outdoorsy. been using mine for two years across a bu

Osprey Stratos 24 L vs. Osprey Manta 24 L Comparison (2024)
it's pretty surprising to me that after this somewhat thorough comparison (albeit zero actual trail, wear or packing comparison) OP concludes that "Manta is the clear winner to me over the Stratos". It seems that, in all of the categories that OP used for comparison, these two bags are incredibly cl
