Panasonic I beg you we need an updated GM1
You understand that as soon you add IBIS it will no longer be a “GM1 markll”… not even a “GM5 markII”. It needs to be thicker. In the dream land (Panasonic as any other company is ruled by their finances and bets that have profit) I would prefer them to make the possibly smallest IBIS+PDAF camera wi

L10 size vs Pen F
They could have made it the same size as the old LX100, but then they wouldn’t have been able to use the GH7 SoC without running into heat issues. Are people really willing to give up the phase detect AF and processor for a slightly smaller camera? Might as well buy the DLux8? The closest lens equiv

What’s the best m43 camera for family videos while travelling?
If you have a limited budget, MFT can be great. Used G9 is great value. If you have money to spend, I see almost no reason to buy into MFT at this point for video. Higher frame rates and less overheating are really the only considerations and most people don’t need to worry about either of those. Pa

L10 size vs Pen F
Panasonic's PDAF still can't AF-C and the S-AF is not dramatically different than DFD. I've used both a GX9 and S9. The sensor is still not stacked. It is backside illuminated at least, which at least is a step up. And you're right the sensor is 1 generation newer, but the D-Lux8 can easily fit into

Can I adapt this 4/3 lens to m4/3? Would I loose any functionality (slower AF, O.I.S, aperture control...) Would it be an upgrade over a standard lumix kit lens?
i think i could answer this down to the exact situation you're in. my dad used to shoot oly and had two old 4/3 lenses left for me when i started, that same 14-50 you have, and an oly 12-35 f/2. he bought me a gh7 for my birthday and suggested the idea of adapting his grails of 4/3 lenses onto my mf

Is full frame necessary ?
The same limitations of small sensors—poor low-light, depth of field is way deeper than on larger sensors. I don’t like MFT glass in general, which means manual glass, which begs the question why you would purchase cinema glass for MFT. Apparently the GH7 has decent autofocus, but there has been no

What's the best "beginner" camera you've ever picked when you first started?
Exactly. The huge appeal of micro four-thirds early on was that you had a choice between SLR-style bodies and more compact rangefinder-style bodies with a corner viewfinder. Today, the only current lines still being refreshed: the Panasonic GH (GH7 = $1800 [prices new, body only on B&H]) and G optio
