I hope this would be true..
The cheap camera will be something useless that no one cares about. I have a theory that the more expensive camera could be the small modern MFT camera everyone wants. A few YouTubers I follow have been mysteriously pimping out MFT all of a sudden. Being given GH7 by Panasonic to “test” out of nowhe

Why has the GH Series fallen off the map?
The GH7 is the best hybrid MFT-camera on the market if you look at the features. It has 25MP, the best hand held high res and pretty good DR for stills. It has a video performance that is better than most other cameras in the price range. It is an extremely reliable work horse for people who need to

Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?
Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

Hope there will be future lens like Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8
No point for M43 to compete in areas where it's 100% losing out. Better to focus on it's strengths like portability and good enough image quality. As others have mentioned, once you factor in equivalence everything falls apart. Lenses like the 8-25 and 40-150 f4 are great examples that embody the M4

Any sports photographers switched from Canon to m43?
For photography, sure. Lenses like the OM 40-150 2.8 is great for sports and auto focus is amazing. Event videography Olympus isn’t it. You can reuse your pro lenses and do video on Panasonic bodies, the GH7 is widely regarded as one of the best video cameras out there. But for dualographers I’d say

Would an OM System camera work for me?
I hate to be that guy, but here it goes. You can make great videos with cameras that are literally 15 years old, it is not about if the cameras are capable but how easy it is and if you have hard criteria ("cinematic" comes down to your understanding of light, framing, story telling and editing). No

Micro Four Thirds is "just getting killed" - Peter Jeune, on Petapixel Podcast 12/06/2025
I'd say that MFT is undead - on the OM side, everything that's been released is a repackaging of the technology from OM-1, when the R&D was completed by Olympus already prior to the camera, binocular and dictaphone business being offloaded. On the Panasonic side, the G9II is a great camera, so is th

My fast, do-anything EDC kit, smaller than a lunch box
Those are huuuuge. I love the GH7 but it's for filmmaking, not EDC. I asked AI about the relative mass: GH7 + 10-25mm f/1.7: GH7 body: 805g Space.com 10-25mm f/1.7: 690g Photography Blog Total: ~1,495g (3.3 lbs) Your GM1 + 4 lenses: GM1 body: ~204g 9mm f/1.7: ~130g 20mm f/1.7: ~87g 42.5mm f/1.2: ~42

ARRI Enters The Mobile Era With HONOR In A Strategic Partnership
Panasonic GH7 supports ARRI LogC3. I would argue that the very mention of the partnership with ARRI contributed to a the sales of this camera rather handsomely. Even if ARRI LogC3 is a separate, paid feature. Especially, as numerous YouTube creators proved its compatibility with ARRI cameras. By whi

How does m43 handle video?
You should also take a look at Panasonic GH7 and G9II which have much better video capabilities. The top tier OM System is better than Panasonic in still, but not so much for video.
