My long-term LUMIX S1 ii review
Not sure if my opinion is of any value to you, but I'm a former S5II owner. I took advantage of Panasonic LUMIX's trade-in trade-up promotion, which provided me a $400 discount on the purchase of the new S series camera and I received ~$850 in value for my S5II (varies depending on condition, mine w

Which full-frame should I buy? Nikon Z6 III, Panasonic Lumix DC-S5IIX, Canon EOS R6 Mark II, and Sony Alpha 7 IV.I often shoot portraits (fast AF, great bokeh), travel (compact, versatile lenses), and groups (good sharpness, dynamic range).
Well it's good you mentioned affordable lenses because that cuts out Canon. The Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is a great fast lens that's well priced and light. Should help keep the price down from getting zooms and primes. They're for Sony or Nikon. Lumix have the kit lens 20-60mm and the new 24-60mm F2.8

Viltrox 16mm 1.8 L
High frame rates on the S5II which require an APS-C crop, selfie/vertical videos, Astro & landscape photography. Plenty of uses for a 16mm prime, especially a quality one with AF. Much more accessible than the sigma 14mm or 15mm Art lenses, wider than the lumix 18mm or Sigma 20mm primes.

LUMIX S5III Speculation
I love my S5II, but the only thing that I can see wanting in the future is more resolution. I don't know what Lumix' sales are like, if there's enough to justify all s5 competing with the S1, or not. In my mind, the S1IIe is basically the updated S5II, they'll just need to drop the price a bit when

Shoot horizontal & vertical?
I shoot wide and crop most of the time with my real estate clients. For any parts where they're talking on camera, I shoot in 6K Open Gate (Lumix S5iiX), which gives me plenty of options for cropping vertical or horizontal. For the b-roll, I shoot wide then crop. And honestly with how short the vert

Lumix S5ii vs Nikon Z5ii for stills?
Generally, yes. Nikon Z5ii is better for stills and Panasonic S5ii is better for video. Nikon Z5ii has a better autofocus (same as their high-end bodies, better subject recognition and tracking) while the Panasonic S5ii has more video options (6K Open Gate for instance). Both bodies are capable of d

Lumix S 70-300 or 100-500 for casual wildlife / birding?
Yep I hear ya, they dropped the ball with discontinuing the GX line. I sold my GX9 about 2 years ago and then got into L-mount with S9, then added S5ii shortly after but I top out at 70-300 on L-mount as far as long tele needs go and let m43 handle that. That said, my favorite L-Mount lens is actual

My first camera and I chose s5iix
Interestingly, I think the S5 ii is anything but soft as it doesn't have an OLPF. It is why a lot of people still feel the S1H is the best 4K Panasonic camera.

LUMIX S9 VS S5 II (vs FUJIFILM alternative) for a first camera with "cinematic" as leisure and professional
You are saying Fuji X-S20 offers open gate compared to Lumix lineup? Lumix offers open gate on all of their mirrorless lineups. Apart from that I'd vote for S5II, it has mechanical shutter and built in fan when compared to S9 and still relatively compact. For video work Lumix footage will look with

Starting fresh, in search of camera
Check out LUMIX S5ii/S5iix. Both have best ibis, solid low light, and autofocus is solid. 4k 60 has aps-c crop which is something to note if that is a deal breaker. VLOG footage is pretty easy to color grade and is flexible. Bodies are cooled via fans so there’s no overheating.
