I finally have my dream PS3. Now time to find an SSD it'll accept 😌
They are not picky about SSD brand. Just get 500GB to stay away from the 1 TB limit. I used PNY CS900 500GB. If it has not been done, I would replace the battery while you're at it.

Hp compaq nx7300
These hp laptops from that generation are so nice to work on. I would suggest that you get the t7400 instead, it's like 8-10% less powerful but waaaay cheaper than the t7600, that's the CPU I use on my Compaq nc8430 and it runs pretty great. I see that your model has intel GMA 950 integrated graphic

Why do SMB transfer speeds fall off a cliff after a few minutes?
yea, the PNY CS900 is actually a low quality cheap DRAMless SSD, so, it might actually be whats causing it. They are known to drop off terribly once they hit 50% full, and they have issues maintaining decent write speeds over long writes.

Is this SSD okay for my PS2 Fat?
I use a PNY cs900. You can get a 1tb for $50 on Amazon. I have it installed in my ps2, xbox and xbox360.

OPL not showing games issue has me stuck
It was the SSD. I was using a Crucial BX500 and I found another post of a guy with the same setup having the same issue. For whatever reason, the SSD is completely functional, its just not compatible with OPL. I swapped it out with a PNY CS900 and it works fine now.

No cursor problem (video)
As for the failing hard drive, the PNY 500 gb ssd runs about $30.00 at Best Buy or on Amazon. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-cs900-500gb-internal-ssd-sata/6385542.p?skuId=6385542 That’s about as inexpensive of an option I would go with. Samsung 500gb is around $55 Should be able to find a video on

PNY CS900 1TB 3D NAND 2.5" SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - (SSD7CS900-1TB-RB) https://a.co/d/4ZtDMVM This will do you well better, same form factor, should interface just fine.
