I have had a Kobo for a month now and Pocketbook for months (don’t ask how many I have tried/owned 🙈) Anyway: Ease of use: Kobo has the edge on this one. I don't know how "blue" the light on the Basic Lux is, but I guess not that blue since you can't change colour temperature (just a guess). The standard Verse can adjust colour temperature, and since you can keep an ereader for years, whatever you pay more will in the long run be not even that much.

I own a PocketBook ereader. I love it. I think the PocketBook Verse is a good entry-level ereader. It’s budget-friendly, and offers a great reading experience and ease of use. But the Verse Pro or Verse Lite might be good too.
