Why are B/W button devices dying out?
Boox Go7 B&W is a really super device. Maybe nobody wants to compete? š All Pocketbook (except Verse Lite) have buttons. Verse, Verse Pro, Inkpad 4, Era. On paper the Kobo Libra Colour, The Boox Go7 Colour, and the colour PocketBooks do black & white as well as a dedicated B&W reader (300ppi) so it'

pocketbook verse (pro) vs clara bw vs other recs?
Verse Lite is just a worse Verse, just forget about it (smaller battery, no buttons, no SD card slot, no warm colour temperature, also not waterproof - as the standard Verse isn't). Portablility: all devices in discussion are 6" devices, there's no difference in portability (Kobo Clara BW is slightl

Looking for small and simple eReader with buttons
If you want simple, black-and-white, with front light and with buttons, then in the Western world outside the US, really your only options to buy new and have a semi-respectable brand are the various PocketBooks (Verse & Verse Pro are 6āā, Inkpad 4 is 8āā and all those have buttons on the bottom alt

Best e-reader?
When it comes to ereaders, āgoodā is somewhat subjective, depending on oneās personal needs / wishes. If you donāt have any existing purchased ebooks already, and if you have no particular needs beyond āreading text-based booksā, Iād probably recommend a Kobo Clara BW or PocketBook Verse / Verse Pro

New to ereaders
Pocketbook Verse Pro! I love mine. Support for numerous formats, supports adobe drm as well as lcp so works with drm from multiple stores. Sideloaded books sync with Pocketbookās free cloud. If youāre out and about but forget it at home, you can read Iām the pocketbook app on your phone. The page tu

Looking for a small/light non Amazon-based E-reader
Your options, in brief, are: Android readers - they can use the Kindle app so your Kindle books will be easy to get to. However, Iām not at all sure an Android reader will give you ~12 hours of reading time with the frontlight on, especially if thereās cold weather. Boox Go 7 is great, and has butto

Entry Level E-reader
With these specifications, Iād say PocketBook Verse Pro or Kobo Clara. The PocketBook has buttons for page turning (which can be really comfortable); the Clara doesnāt but has a newer screen. If you just read text-based books (stories, novels, text-based non-fiction), then 212 PPI should be quite ok

Which simple no BS black & white e-reader should I get?
Simple & No BS=Pocketbook These are the most basic, and the Verse Pro is more advanced, which you can also compare to the Kobo with this tool. Be advised, Kobo wants you to register even b4 you access the home screen, and they do have a store, and they prefer you to convert your books to Kepub. PB h

Ereader Recs - Dumb it down for me
You say you want easy, good b/w screen with front & backlight, and ability to sync across devices. You say you don't want complicated work- arounds, and you want easy library access A 6" easy to handle e-reader that's light and has tons of features (if you want them), and very important, a well buil

Is there anything out there like the Kobo clara bw but with buttons?
Your request matches up perfectly with Pocketbook Verse or Verse Pro. Both are 6", and have Home/Page up/down/Power buttons. You can remap the buttons, too. PB says we give you the device, and you do what you want with it! Very open. Never have to jailbreak a Pbook. Comparison link
