What should I buy?

There are no current Kindles with buttons, so unless you can snag a used Kindle Oasis for that price, that rules out Kindles anyway. With your requirements and price point, I am not sure there’s anything other that PocketBook Verse available as new. (And I don’t know how sharp the Verse screen is -

A case for PocketBook Verse Lite - My impressions

TL;DR : The Verse Lite is worth considering for just wanting to read. Support of many formats including Adobe Digital Editions, and the ability to set gesture support for many functions. No Bluetooth, no Kindle book support (unless you remove DRM), and auto brightness can be literally headache induc

pocketbook verse (pro) vs clara bw vs other recs?

Verse Lite is just a worse Verse, just forget about it (smaller battery, no buttons, no SD card slot, no warm colour temperature, also not waterproof - as the standard Verse isn't). Portablility: all devices in discussion are 6" devices, there's no difference in portability (Kobo Clara BW is slightl

Looking for small and simple eReader with buttons

If you want simple, black-and-white, with front light and with buttons, then in the Western world outside the US, really your only options to buy new and have a semi-respectable brand are the various PocketBooks (Verse & Verse Pro are 6’’, Inkpad 4 is 8’’ and all those have buttons on the bottom alt

I'm in love with this thing 😍

First I had a very small Sony (c 4”) that I mostly used to read fanfic. It used PRC files. Was a great little system to read everywhere. But prc files became rare and epub/mobi took the lead and the Sony was not so useful. Then I briefly had a Kindle 2 still with keyboard, but I gave it away because

Pocketbook Basic Lux 4 vs Verse

They are quite similar but the Verse is only slightly better. The Verse has USB-C, warm light, a bigger battery, which the Basic Lux 4 doesn't have. However, the Verse is also much heavier. This great site breaks down the differences: https://comparisontabl.es/e-readers/?product1=PocketBook+Basic+Lu

I can't decide which ereader to buy

Look into the Pocketbook. I haven't used their 7" Era, but the 6" Verse Pro is really nice. I just ordered a like-new one from Amazon for $130 US. The Era has side buttons which you said you didn't want, but the Verse Pro doesn't. I like how sturdy and premium it feels. The screen is really crisp, t

Entry Level E-reader

With these specifications, I’d say PocketBook Verse Pro or Kobo Clara. The PocketBook has buttons for page turning (which can be really comfortable); the Clara doesn’t but has a newer screen. If you just read text-based books (stories, novels, text-based non-fiction), then 212 PPI should be quite ok

Ereader Recs - Dumb it down for me

You say you want easy, good b/w screen with front & backlight, and ability to sync across devices. You say you don't want complicated work- arounds, and you want easy library access A 6" easy to handle e-reader that's light and has tons of features (if you want them), and very important, a well buil

Is there anything out there like the Kobo clara bw but with buttons?

Your request matches up perfectly with Pocketbook Verse or Verse Pro. Both are 6", and have Home/Page up/down/Power buttons. You can remap the buttons, too. PB says we give you the device, and you do what you want with it! Very open. Never have to jailbreak a Pbook. Comparison link
